The Buffet food was rather dry, budget ice cream still in the plastic container. No flavour. Thanks for the experience. Not enjoyable and been there tried it making a note to never go back unless the smorgasbord is improved. Certainly not on par with any of the other restaurants in the area. The staff were nice to us.
My husband and I are new to the district and were looking forward to treating ourselves to take-aways this evening, I had combination chow-mein and hubby had combination fried rice, there seemed to be only chewy beef in my meal with only one piece of pork on top, the same for my husband’s meal, everything tasted over-cooked and there was only tough cabbage, broccoli and a bit of carrot in my chow mein, no onion, no green beans , no peas and limp boiled noodles instead of crispy deep fries ones, very, very disappointing, we will NOT be back 🙁
Highly recommend the crispy pork on bok choy and rice – there is also a bbq option or half n half. Ordered on the takeaway side of the restaurant !
The quality of food has deteriorated over time. The food is quite dry and tasteless. The food is checked irregularly which probably means it has been sitting under the lamp all night – hence why the food is dry. I used to love coming here but now, I think it is past its due date and needs to either shut down or review the menu, staff and restaurant facilities. They could invest in better baby seats because the one we had was tattered and torn, covered up with a bunch of duct tape and overall not good for small babies – hygiene wise. The desert has been the same for many years – jelly, ice cream and custard something. The ice cream is rock solid and presented a tub with a silver spoon dug into it so when I went to try and scoop it out, the whole tub came with the spoon lol. Not very good customers service, my 1yeae old didnt eat all of his food and the waitress replied with ‘that is such a waste food’. We asked to be seated at a 12 seated table as opposed to putting 2 tables together and the waitress replied with a simple ‘no wont fit, too fat’ lol. Overall, didnt enjoy my night and for $20 its definitely not worth the money.
Good food, cosy environment and good for cheap lunch/dinner out. Staff are wonderful and made us feel welcome. Lot of parking space. $13 lunch and $22 for dinner. Buffet.
This is a place we’ve been dining at for many years. We’ve recommended it to friends and have brought friends there too. The food is great, squid, mapo tofu, fried fish. Kids love going there. The low rating is really due to poor customer service. So bad we’ve decided not to go there anymore. Long story shirt, we were over charged and then blamed by the lady boss for causing their error. When they discovered it was actually their error, lady boss reluctantly offered an apology. Unfortunately as good as their food is, we are unlikely to enjoy a night out there again.
Good restaurant but food quality isn’t the greatest. Nice and big to cater for large groups. Price of food is okay but quantity and quality has constantly decreased over the years.Dynasty has both a buffet option and an alacarte option. We have had both but my suggestion in to go with the alacarte option. That way the food is cooked fresh and you can modify the dish to your liking (eg. Extra meat)Buffet option is quick and greasy Chinese food which probably sits under the heat lamps all night as every time we have been there there has been hardly anyone and the staff go around every half hour or so to mix the food so it keeps looking fresh. To be honest there are may better restaurants in the Porirua area but we will keep coming back as this is where our family has come for years.Food I would recommend ordering alacarte are stuffed chicken wings (may need to be ordered a day in advance). Everything else is average but the stuffed chicken wings are delicious.Staff are friendly enough and place is never full so no need to book. Definitely give Dynasty a try for yourself and make your on call whether to return or not. They also have a takeaway next door and from there I would recommend the Chinese roast and bbq pork.Food – 6/10Ambiance – 5/10Staff Friendliness – 6/10Price – 5/10Would I return – Yes
