We were 50/50 going due to the reviews but decided to try it out for ourselves and we all enjoyed our meals. I can see why customers are saying the portions are small but it’s the type of restaurant (not pub dinning) and more on the flavours and quality of the food. Steak was very nice, the smoked taro puree was so good, I was licking my plate. My mum enjoyed her chicken breast meal. Steak was cooked to our liking. We all had dessert which was the creme brulee which was very tasty. Would definitely dine here again.

My husband and I love dining out, occasionally restaurants make a mistake or do something wrong which we totally understand because we are all people.Silverspoon, one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. We walked in the restaurant and had the first waitress come to our table after 20 minutes. We ordered a glass of wine and a coke. The coke was served only half chilled. My husband ordered a steak for $38 (Med Rare) The steak came out WD on the outside and Med on the inside. We orderded 2 more drinks when the meals arrived. The drinks never arrived. After our meals we opted to leave and skip dessert. Paying the bill they still tried to charge us for the drinks we never received. They said they would remove them from the bill. Upon checking the receipt in the car, one of the non-received drinks was still charged. My husband mentioned the over cook steak to the manager when paying the bill but he mentioned nothing about it not even an apology. We understand its Valentine’s Day but the restaurant took the bookings for the evening not us!Our opinion the Silverspoon is disorganised, food definitely not up to standard and they are unsympathetic to their clients frustrations. Some staff training in customer service is definitely required!

Had dinner last night, it was so hot, they only had one heat pump close to the kitchen which was not adequate – became quite unbearable. The dark haired waitress was very aloof, not friendly at all. Food was ok, for the cost I would expect better.

We have been going here on and off for quite a few years. More recently we have been going more frequently. We loved the meals and service. Went in for dinner tonight and wasn’t aware that the 2 for 1 offer on the mains was no longer available on a Tuesday night due to new management taking over a month ago. Looked at the Menu and realised that things were very different. But still thought that the food would be good. We were very wrong. We both had the steak which was cold and also tasted like rubber and as everything has to be ordered separately there was no salad that came with it.If you want fries or salad you have to have a separate order for that therefore upping the cost on the meal overall. Also we did order one of the steaks plain with no mushrooms or anything. But it did come with this anyways. The waiter was lovely as always and very apologetic about our experience. They did take the cost of a meal off the bill. But our lovely little local restaurant is ruined I gave a rating of 2 due the waiting staff being so nice and that they did deduct the cost of one of our mains. But this experience has left a foul taste in my mouth and I will not be back. Such a very grave shame.

We have been here for over an hour. When we arrived there was 3 tables, a total of 8 people. Staff consisted of 1 kitchen person plus 1 person going between front of house and kitchen. After 1 hour and 10 mins our meals have finally arrived. One luke warm steak with hot chips and one hot chicken meal. I am appalled at the service, not the staffs fault. They seem embarrased. After 6 years of coming here, i will not return
