Big portion at economical price. This is your typical food at food court. Good enough to satisfy your hunger and craving for roast pork. The aunty even throws in Pak Choi to help you with your digestion, so good. If you’re into taste, then go somewhere else. This one is suitable option for those on budget (studentssss)

My go-to takeaways! Portion is massive and it’s tasty as. Favorite menu would be chinese pork sausage and roast pork fried rice! For only $12, you’ll get the best things in life (fried rice AND roasted pork) They are pretty busy during lunch hence sometimes the taste is sometimes below par cause they are overwhelmed.

Friendly little takeaway place in the corner of Capital Market with ducks hanging up and a wonderful hot oil smell coming from the kitchen. I tried three dishes from here – Vegetable fried rice, duck fried rice, and the eggplant. Vegetable fried rice was just okay and the flavours didn’t nearly compare to the duck, but both fried rices gave massive portions (two to two and a half meals’ worth) at quite reasonable prices, and the quality is well better than the pricetag compared to other stuff around Wellington. The eggplant was done well, it was cooked into a dark thick sauce with lots of garlic and served with rice. Serving size was about the same again. Definitely worth buying if you like Chinese style eggplant or haven’t tried it yet.

Situated in one of Wellington’s hidden gems (Willis St food markets) Aunty Mei’s is one of the first stalls you will come across as you walk in.Serving all sorts of Hawker type Chinese food I was spoilt for choice. After reading through the menu a few times I settled on trying the roast duck and bbq pork on rice. The busy husband and wife team (I presume they are husband and wife) were very patient while I stood there making my choice and although there seemed to be a bit of a language barrier the service was still very pleasant. It didn’t take very long for them to prepare the meal and shorty after I ordered I was called back up to receive my eagerly awaited meal. For $13 the portion size was very reasonable. There was a lot of rice and a lot of meat (not like some other Chinese places). There was even a bit of Bok Choy on the side. Seemed like quite a balanced healthy meal. The meat was a little tough, the rice could have done with a bit of soy sauce on it or a chilli sambal served on the side and the Bok Choy didn’t look like it was very fresh (yellow leaves and dark dots on the stem) but this is what eating from a hawker stall is all about.Fast, cheap food that is not burgers and fries. Yes it is not perfect but it’s not ment to be. Will definitely be back.

I really didn’t know what to order for lunch. Settled on S&S pork from Aunty Mei’s.Friendly staff. Meal ready in 5/10 mins. Great. Big portion.Tasted good. I didn’t eat all the sauce. It was tasty but very sweet so I just ate the pork, which was plentiful and covered in a nice light coating. There was also some crisp veg in there to. Nice. It would have been a lot nicer if the sauce was toned down a bit. My mouth felt a bit furry afterwards. Not sure a big stodgy meal like that was the best choice for a lunchtime – but it was enjoyable.

Have been coming to the market to try the food for awhile now. We ordered bbq pork and roast pork on rice and a wonton noodle soup. The soup left a lot to be desired, i like soup with egg noodles and asked for this but because of the language barrier i don’t think they understood what i had asked and i ended up with vermicelli in my soup. Broth didn’t have a lot of flavour and neither did the wontons. Pork on rice was nice enough.

Aunty Mei is near the front entrance at the Capital Markets. The steamed dumplings for $8 are my favourites but I also recommend roast duck on rice and barbeque pork buns. Most lunch meals are priced between $8-13, so they’re good value. It pays to hang around close by when waiting for your food as I’ve often experienced confusion from the staff about what I’ve actually ordered and paid for.
