We were visiting from San Francisco and were wandering around the streets looking for somewhere inviting to eat when we spotted the sign. Were greeted by two very friendly women and the music, which apparently was put together by the manager was inviting and surprising and enjoyable. The menu seemed like it had just what we were looking for. Turned out it was perfect. We each had a nice glass of wine, one red and one white, and some open faced sandwiches (smashed avocado with Feta – and Haloumi and tomatoes on ciabatta ) followed up by tasty cappuccinos and a ‘to die for’ large caramel and sea salt cookie. Two very happy tourists – ! It is a small place and I would recommend to anyone visiting Wellington to go there for lunch. Oh and by the way that have a full bar as well!!

Poquito is one of the hidden gems in Central Wellington in which unless you’ve heard of it you may not of been. But it certainly is a gem. Been a couple times now, once for an evening of live music with one the best guitarists I’ve seem. The live music is a regular event and definitely worth getting a couple of beers and coming along to. Went and ate at Poquito for the first time today as I’d been eyeing up the baked eggs for a while after seeing photos and reading the menu. Got the chorizo baked eggs and they were awesome. Loved the flavours and it’s a decent size dish too, and reasonably priced. Wish I could find out how to replicate it myself. My friend go the same and me and then my other friend got the the soup and really enjoyed it as well. Cool place, with cool vibes and always service with a genuine smile. Make sure you check it out for some brunch during the day or some cocktails and tapas while listening to some Wellington’s best musicians at night.
