Friendly staff and efficient service. We went to Welly for few days and was looking for a nice Malaysian place with reasonable price. We are so glad we decide to try the food there. Ordered satay (beef and chicken), roti, seafood laksa and Sambal chicken. Really like the food.. would say they are more on the sweet side in terms of seasoning not spicy. Come and give it a try, looks like they are popular amongst the locals too, saw many office people drop by for lunch.
Cannai have Cannai? LOLI went today for lunch and had curry laksa, was pretty average to say the least, soup seemed a bit too creamy. My friend had the chicken mie goreng and thought it was pretty good but not amazing. The building looked like the owners kids painted it from kindy.
One of the best Cheap Eats if you’re hankering for some fried noodles. My go to every time is the Mee Goreng (how can you say no at $10?) which is always hot and delicious. Staff are friendly and easy to deal with. Limited interior seating, but more seating outside and it is located down Left Bank (off of Cuba St) so a bit more quiet even during the lunch and dinner rush.
I had been passing through this place for quite a while and decided I’d give it a go. I ordered their Sambal Seafood, which was nice and filling. The place was tiny so I opted to eat in one of the tables they had outside. The staff were nice; a reasonably good place to dine for the less fussy ones.
Every Wellington students memory would have a space for Satay Kingdom. All these years this place still maintain the quality of their food and most importantly—-student friendly price. My favorites are the Curry Laksa with Roti and the fried noodles..The situation of the cafe is unique to Wellington too.. down the end of a quite but boutique style complex at the middle of Cuba St.
I love this place, cheap and worth it. Can get a really simple feed of roti and peanut sauce for $3.50 and it’s like a great time. Satay Kingdom is essentially my second home and it’s just the place to be!
Hands down the best. Fast and prompt service, food is always amazing and so reasonably priced. Restaurant is smaller and isn’t really designed for dining in, but they can have a takeaway roti chenai ready for you within ten minutes tops. I’m struggling to find anywhere that does it better.
