The couple of times I have been, the service was slow even when not busy but I thought the wait was worth it. Love that they have so many plant based options. The heat and eat options are great for occasional splurges for a work lunch though generally quite rich.
Just popped in here for a cup of tea and a mini vegetable quiche, which was very greasy on the bottom and the pastry was a bit dry. The tea was lovely, and the girl serving was very friendly and helpful. It is a very small place though, so not good for bigger groups. If I was passing again I probably would pop in but not for the quiche. The cookie’s actually look tasty, will have to try one next time.
Interesting pun concerning the internal wine cellars within the building. I was tempted to pop in and take some photos of the interior design because it was really nice. However, the coffee was nothing special and the barista didn’t seem so fond to serve us. Perhaps he had a big day too? How ironic the paradox that he works in a coffee shop but lacks the latte infused enthusiasm to serve customers? Any who, a nice spot right outside of parliament house.
I walk past this place everyday, not really thinking twice about it but this time I decided to stop and try it out. It is an extension of backbencher and surprisingly is also a Bottleshop!I ordered a flat white through there ‘takeaway’ window, which was actually quite handy not having to go inside and with no queue it was ready in seconds. It cost $4 which is pretty reasonable for around Thorndon way and it was a pretty good coffee, one of the better coffees I have had around the Thorndon area. The milk was velvety but it was a tad on the weak side. I wi have to return for a second try. Sarah Reynolds #challange mindthecrumbs.com
