My favourite place for coffee in Wellington. Like others on here, I go out of my way to get my coffee – 2 a day at least – from Green Land. It’s all about the coffee and the service – there’s a selection of pastries and baked goods, even some sandwiches, but it’s the coffee that keeps the place packed for much of the morning. The crowds are my only complaint, but that’s my misanthropy, not a fault of the business.
This is my favourite coffee place in Thorndon, I even walk out of my way to enjoy their coffee. It’s a quirky little cafe, tucked away down Kate Sheppard place with consistently good coffee. They offer a small range of baked goods, including cheese scones, muffins, pinwheels and a selection of slices. They also have some toasties sandwiches available. Not a lot available for gluten free but the odd slice occassionaly. The staff are lovely and always smiling or cracking a joke. They are great to their regulars remembering their names and coffee preference. They are also eco-conscious; and provide a 50 cent discount if you bring your own cup… BONUS! Consistently good coffee and yummy baking treats (especially the lemon slice). The customer service is excellent as Glen remembers each customer’s name and their coffee preferences. 🙂
Amazing locally roasted coffee! Scrummy well priced food! Tiptop friendly service! and 100 percent Eco-conscious to boot!! All cafe´s in Wellington should take a leaf out of Glen´s very green book. If you haven´t been already you´re missing out!
I love the baking- particularly the Afgans and the chocolate caramel nut crack slice. So good. The coffee is good too, so much better than the plastic corporate types close by
Pretty average. It takes forever for them to make a coffee (even if you are the only person in the cafe), and the coffee is lukewarm. I prefer to go to Mojo now in Vogel Centre.
Green Land has a new owner and sells a less Fairtrade and less organic coffee than their predecessors it would seem. This coffee goes by the name Karamu; it is now made scalding hot and has less shazaam than Havana.
