Kiwi lunch and brunch during the day – and they really know how to do bacon and eggs! Three nights from Thursday they are a Japanese restaurant (matching the background of those who run it). A small standard menu for dinner plus a couple of specials for each of the courses. Best Japanese I have had in NZ outside Japan. A tiny restaurant with less than 20 seats so often booked out in the evenings. Modest prices, courteous services, a true gem. Recommended.

This tiny cafe is the best kept secret in Wellington (maybe not so secret anymore because it’s always busy). Fast & friendly service, great coffee & delicious food! The best poached eggs on toast in Welly! Their spinach & rice soup is one of my faves for lunch and their egg salad sandwiches are better than my grandma’s! The desserts and muffins are excellent too. GF options!!! We’ve moved out of the neighbourhood but I’m constantly drawn back to Leafee!!!!

This little cafe is a gem. They do great coffee, great food, and the best bacon and eggs in Wellington. It’s my go-to place in Thorndon. The staff are friendly and everything is nicely presented.

The crumbed Haloumi sandwich is horrible. It’s mostly flavourless but the small amount of flavour in it is not pleasant at all. A strange fusion of Asian sesame flavour with beetroot and Haloumi which absolutely does not work.

Will always love this place. Great staff, great food and great environment. The prices are reasonable and the food fills you right up! Supreme coffee is great when done right- and it always is here. Love that they do all day breakfasts.Must try:Eggs beniCoffeeall the slices!

Best Japanese in Wellington with dishes on the evening menu you haven’t seen before. Quality of the sashimi is great, the fish changes all the time which proves how fresh it is. Eggplant dish is to die for and I have to have it every time I go. Always something good for veggos, my carnivorous buddy even ordered a veggie dish because it looked so good. We all shared a tasting plate which had the most tender beef with a glorious sauce. Menu changes but quality doesn’t. Shame they don’t have bigger premises.
