4 adults ate dinner on a Saturday night at this wonderful old pub. The atmosphere was fantastic. We ordered entrees, mains and dessert. The service was very good. Waiting times between courses was only 15-20 minutes, despite the bar being very busy. We ate mains of ribs and salmon and dessert of apple crumble, sticky date pudding, chocolate brownie and a cheese board. The cost for the whole evening was very reasonable. We did have issues with a barman not serving the correct spirit shot volumes, but this was quickly sorted and we were not charged for the additional spirits. This is a must visit pub to visit and eat at. We’ll certainly be back.

Stoked there was a veg burger option as it was a good meal deal including a drink. But the pumpkin pattie was sloppy and bland. Veg food can be tasty, the burger should have been seasoned appropriately just as I’m sure the meat was. Great that there were kid’s options, burger was generous in size but there weren’t enough chicken strips. Putting greens on a kid’s plate just is a waste, better just to leave them off.

Food was so so. Certainly not deserving of it’s premium pricing. Location may be everythig, but the food has to live up to hit on the wallet.Manager agreed to turn on heating for half an hour as we’d come in from cold outdoors and were wet.Unfortunately, no action on his part was forthcoming and the subsequent attitude towards our group of 9 was very icy and grumpyish, as if we’d done them wrong by coming to their establishment and orderd beer and food.
