This place is great value, the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The premises is tidy too. Im partial to the steak and pepper pie it really encompasses pepper and has a great filling to pastry ratio and there pastry is spot on, the pork and watercress pie would be nicer for me if it was slightly saltier, and the potato top needs a third less potato. I love the deep-fried dumplings on a stick too. I wish they’d add onion and carrot and a touch of cayenne to the sausage rolls to moisten and enhance the flavour. They’re happy to alter meals to suit. Id buy the sandwiches if they didn’t all contain mayo. The raw fish is good, overall there is something for everyone.

Good quality food, well priced too. Super friendly staff and excellent coffee. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends and family as well.
The new dish on offer is the marinated raw fish, try it you will love it. I am also a fan of the chicken schnitzel, its my favourite lunch dish and very reasonably priced. Nice friendly service and great food, one of the best places to eat in Upper Hutt, you wont be disappointed.
