Although this traditional Family owned bakery is under new management after the retirement from the shop by Alan Surridge who I believe was the owner for the last 35 years, they haven’t lost the knack (or the recipes) for absolutely awesome Eccles Cakes, Neenish Tarts, To-Die-For Custard tarts, as well as a host of other equally delicious pies and pastries. Definitely one of the honest-to-goodness Kiwi Home-Style Bakeries. Nom.
