The homemade chips are the best remind me of The ones back home because English fish and chips are he best so if you are going there I suggest getting the homemade chips
Homemade chips made from real potatoes (do I need to say more) not the usual polystyrene frozen rubbish you get from most chippies. Decent fish too (I recommend the crumbed)
My review is for the only thing I’ve tried from here and keep going back for which is the ‘Super Burger’.. The contents, Lettuce, beef pattie, bacon, onions, egg, tomato, cheese and tom sauce. Reason for loving this burger is its firstly a tidy eat, the bun is perfectly toasted, the tomato is cooked so it adds a deepish tart flavour, onions cooked so you get the sweetness and a wee bit of crunch. The bacon is cooked well so as you bite in it comes away clean. The patti is an average size but juicy. I’m not sure what cheese they use but its more of a sauce. Lettuce is fresh and I request a soft fried egg, otherwise its cooked through. With a touch of tom sauce. Personally the ratios in this burger are what works for me, its just yum 🙂 currently cost 5.80 and takes about 10 minutes. The shop itself is dark and well dingy. I’ve always had pleasant service too.
Best fish and Chips in Upper hutt by far! The Homemade chips are amazing. Best advice I can give is to call in your order as always await, which is a good sign. Havent tried the burgers etc, but fish, chips wontons and spring rolls are all fantastic.
Great fresh fish and a choice of Mcleans or homemade style chips. All of the fillets we have tried were very nice. Their prawns are nice and big and tasty. The corn fritters are a favourite at our place and my wife loves the donuts. They are just up the road as well!
The worst fish and chips i have ever had the misfortune to buy.Judging by the state of the paper, it looked like the food was dumped in the paper without any draining of oil at all, i have never seen at least a third of a scoop of chips glued to the paper when held vertically.Distgusting to say the least.
Very poor service, and very poor food, I do not recommend. This is the 1st review I have done and would not usually bother, but I don’t want anyone else to waste their money!.
