Oh Wow. We went into the restaurant and ordered from the restaurant menu. I ordered the Saroupa Chicken., And the Tabohli Salad. For parsley lovers a must have. Beautiful balance of flavours. My chicken was so tender, moist and full of wonderful flavours. The whole dish was like eating at the table of a King. It was amazing. The service was great and the place clean. Worth every penny.
Stopped in for a lunch, was working around the corner for work and just felt like a quick and easy kebab. I opted for the chicken salad (being gluten free) so just the same stuff, but on a plate like a salad, brilliant! The meat was tender and tasty, sauces were nice, hot sauce wasnt overly sweet which was nice. Overall happy, and would head back there again and recommend you give it a go. Service was good too, friendly but not over bearing.
I was basically wondering around clueless not sure where to go for lunch. I ended up near Sahara and decided to give it a go.I ordered a chicken kebab $10.00.Got all the salads and some jalapeños. Yoghurt and Hot Chili sauces.Kebabs are pretty straight forward. They are either good or bad. This was really nice. Nice chicken. I’m not a fan of the pre-cut chicken that steams in a pot and turns a bit sloppy. This chicken was good. Nice texture and some gnarly bits. Fresh salads and a good kick with the chili. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Gorgeous, authentic middle Eastern food. Great to have takeaway or sit in option for the same price. Definitely thankful to have been able to sit in and eat our takeaways with the cold weather outside. Staff are friendly, food is fresh and prepared right in front of you.
Fifty meters from the embassy in Courtney place there’s a nice man standing next to a slowly turning stack of lamb in a place called Sahara. A few quick slices, a falafel and salad – all secured in a wafer thin wrap and aluminium foil. You can eat it there or take it away as you want – same price. If you like middle Eastern food and you’re hungry and in need of a quick bite – maybe just before or after a movie at the paramount or embassy, or simply because getting trolleyed in Courtenay place is less likely with something solid inside you, then this place isn’t half bad. My only difficulty was managing to eat the tail end of my wrap without getting lamby, garlicky, yoghurt all over my hands and clothes – but for me that’s not unusual.Plenty of seatingGood qualityNice staffWarm cosy ambienceKid friendlyRecommended for a super-fast, tasty bite.
Not a fan! I had the chicken iskender and it made me think of cat food. My friend had the falafel kebab which was alright. Service and ambience pretty poor. Won’t be back.
The food was really nice. The prices are good. $91.50 for 2 starters, 2 mains and 6 drinks. Great flavours, and generous servings. I take off half a point because I need to save if for absolute perfection.
