went here for the first time for lunch as is BOGOF in the entertainment book. I ordered the chicken burger which was a schnitzel and my friend the calamari salad. burger was really tasty and huge size, my friend said her salad was nice. waiter was very friendly and fast service. for two meals and 2 beers worked out at $34 which is very reasonable. would recommend and go back again.
Reasonably average cafe. Nothing bad about it, but neither was there anything that made it stand out. The service was good and so was the coffee but I’m unlikely to go out of my way just to go there again.
Great place for a coffee and cake. Food on the other hand not so much. Lucky it was an Entertainment Book 2 for 1 deal or I would have felt robbed. Had the lamb and my friend has the fried chicken which was actually quite delicious. Sent back my lamb it was overcooked and so tough I could have used it to replace my brake pads on my car.
This is my local and I love going in there. The staff are always so friendly and they even know what I get. Such good service and the cafe food is always tasty.
This has been a favourite of mine for years. The location opposite the Intercontinental is excellent. The customers include hotel guests, Wellingtonians and visitors in general. The place tends to be busy and crowded throughout the day, reflecting location and popularity. You are as likely to find yourself cheek by jowl at one of the closely alined tables with a CEO as you are a suburban matron having coffee. In many ways Arabica is a Wellington institution and as such is a place where people meet and you run into friends and acquaintances.Coffee is good and the food is not bad, though the club sandwiches are a tad pricey.
Great coffee, good filled bread rolls. Noisy but that’s because they are busy and the sound bounces off the hard surfaces. Nice window seat and at outdoor table. Been half a dozen times because of location and coffee and plan to continue. Have not had a meal.
Reminded myself today why I avoid this place. Average service and really average food. We were a group of four, ordered at the same time. I ordered a cabinet fritatta with a salad. My meal arrived approx 10 mins prior to the rest of the table. The fritatta was tasteless. My friend ordered the fish cakes. They were distinctly fishy smelling and tasted awful, really stodgey. When we mentioned it to the waitress she said she’d tell the chef but there was no follow up or apology. As we went to pay we again mentioned the average meal. The cashier and owner were totally disinterested in the fact the food was not nice. Overall a really disappointing experience. Never again!
