Went here for a light lunch the food was pretty good, I got a salmon bagel but I was quite disappointed by the service, it didn’t take long for the food to come out but the attitudes of the staff were like they didn’t want to be there and were not overly helpful
Gave up caffeine recently, only because there is now organic, water processed, decaffeinated coffee available. And this place has it, and does it really well. I also had a salmon and rocket bagel, very yum. Nice warm ambience too, an a wintry Wellington day. Will be back
Cafe 86 is next to where I work. Now, I have access to some pretty smooth brews at work, a glorious plunger grind. Be that as it may, sometimes a jaunt to cafe 86 is just what I need to get that early morning or mid afternoon hit. Whether it’s their fun (though busy) atmosphere, the variety of plunger coffee (bottomless – huge risk from me here), peanut butter and chocolate bites (which make my fitness app apoplectic) or smooth long macchiatos, I generally find myself here multiple times a week.
Great location and atmosphere. Unfortunately my coffee was horrible. It was obviously burnt with floating bits swirling on top. Won’t be back.
Really cute atmosphere, lovely decor and beautiful coffee. I enjoyed the quiet and modern feel of this place, tucked away from the bustle of Lambton Quay.
Enjoyed a nice flat white while I read the paper there recently. Cool atmosphere, friendly service and baristas who know what they’re doing. Lots of people with laptops inside.
