Have been several times and just get egg fu yong , veges etc and have been great for the majority of the time. Twice in the past month though I have had egg shell in my egg fu yong. First time I gave the benefit of the doubt, second time I am now finding a new Chinese place.
Best chinese takeaway type food in the whole of Wellington city! Seriously, we’ve tried them all and this was the best. $12.50 for a large container of pick-your-own, the sweet n sour pork and orange beef were both LOVELY, they didn’t feel heavy, gluggy, oily, nor have those weird stringy overcooked cant-actually-chew-it pieces like they do at other takeaway places. The chicken n veges had that wonderful chickeny gravy/sauce which is so flavourful, and the veges are soft but not overcooked. The fried fish and crumbed chicken wings were HOT and fresh. All the dishes were hot actually, not the luke-warm tepid temperature that serve-your-self chinese takeaways can often be. You are now our go-to place for chinese takeaways in the city, we are so pleased we stumbled upon you today, we’ve been looking for a good chinese takeaway place for about 3 years now! We didn’t realise the salad bar was part of the same store until I read the review below this one, so next time we come in, well get one serve-your-self container of cooked food and get a noodle salad to try as well. Oh! And your dumplings! We have to try those too!

Met a friend for lunch at Lambton Food court today. I was keen to try the Chinese smorgasbord but then I noticed their noodle bar.The noodle salad is $6.00. You choose either chicken, pork, or steak, your sauce and then you choose your salad as they make it. I chose to have all the salads, with Sichuan sauce.They have chilies in a pot on the bench but no pottles to put them in before taking your meal away, so I didn’t take any. Once mixed together with the noodles added, Its big!, and for $6.00. It’s one of the best deals you’ll get for lunch in the area.Taste wise it was nice – being extra fussy, maybe there was alittle something missing – possibly some extra spice, not sure, but that’s being extra picky. The salad was fresh and crisp, not a massive amount of meat, could have been more, the noodles were nice and light not stodgy. The sauce was flavoursome and I was satisfied after eating it. It’s not the most elegant meal to eat, with noodles flying all over the place if you’re not careful. It would be better in a bigger bowl so that it doesn’t spill out, but this is a minor point.For $6.00 I was impressed. A good cheep feed for the Terrace.
I loved it, best smorgasbord ever 🙂 every bite you taste has alot of flavour and it was fingerlicking good.. i give it a 10 / 10 and will diffenitely eat there again
