I’ve been here many times and it hasn’t been a great experience on any of the visits. The service was horrible and the staff weren’t friendly. The coffee was served really cold. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Been here a couple of times now; the last visit was probably the most average of the lot. That’s not to say the food is disappointing here, but it’s not something to be wow’d by, considering the price too. At $16 the Eggs Benedict for what you’re getting seems a bit on the steep side. In combination with the bread it’s quite bland, and its slim pickings. Two eggs, some dressing, and ham. If you’re looking for a quick breakfast, or a place to have a meeting, this is definitely a good place to visit. But look elsewhere if you’re after food alone.

Went for the WOAP dish, wasn’t sure what to expect. Dish was super tasty, great mix of sweet and savory, lovely crispy waffle, perfectly poached eggs, light and tangy hollandaise.Coffee was decent as well. Bit odd next to the post office, but would recommend.

My work café when I’m in Wellington, I’ve brought coffee and food from them a few times now. Overall I think the coffee at Kanteen is solid Wellington standard, the décor and ambiance is rather corporate but there is plenty of space and its quite open which is nice. What’s good here is there smoothies and mince on toast. What disappointed me extremely was their Eggs Benedict as pictured below. I paid 16$ for my colleague to get a poached egg, sauce, a piece of 5 grain bread and some refrigerator salmon. Pure day-light robbery, I was repulsed however my colleague refused to question for whatever reason, which just means I’ll get to rant about this in my review! It was pitiful to look at in all honest, a single poached egg lying on a bed of smoked supermarket salmon.Big breakfast is solid, can’t really go wrong and they give a decent portion of bacon.Showstopper: Smoothies, solid coffee and their mince on toast.Overall Grade: B-

Nice atmosphere and quick friendly service. Went for brunch with a friend, the seating was somewhat awkward, the tables were at varying heights and I had to put the plate on my lap to make it less awkward to eat. I had the large eggs Benedict, it was a quite bland with the sourdough bread. The coffee was good though. Overall a nice atmosphere, clean, tidy and fast, wouldn’t recommend having a meal there, but good for a meeting and coffee combo.

Found the food was good but a bit pricey for what it is. The service team need a bit of work, they seem a bit lost with no clear direction. A bit more training is needed. Not sure if I would go back as plenty of other options around at better prices.
