Came here for lunch twice in one weekend. Lovely location, the high ceiling is amazing but makes for quite a bit of echoing!Service was quick, the coffee was good and the cabinet selection was great- a little on the pricey side though. The food tasted great, no complaints there.
Very fast service and all elements were very good. The raw peppermint hot chocolate was memorable and the brioche French toast with fruit delicious. There was a private enclave down stairs so we didn’t have to sit in the mall or cafe area. Friendly.
Had the roasted pumpkin frittata. Was good for a light snack which is what I wanted. Decent size like of a large muffin and seasoned well with side of relish. Good chunks of pumpkin which I liked. It was just fine.
My friend and I came in after sneaking into all the tallest buildings in Wellington City for some good photos and a few laughs haha. But we came in a bit thirsty and a slight tummy for gingerbread so we grabbed a latte and sat in. I wasn’t impressed by the price but I was impressed by the quality of the retro decor mixed with neo classical architecture. The gingerbread was also delicious. Lovely staff lovely shop.
My partner and I stumbled across this little gem this morning and decided to go in for breakfast. It’s a very cute cafe with lots of seating and great music! The lady behind the counter was very helpful even with my difficult order of three sides put together rather than a meal off the menu, my partner had the Italian Sausages. Both meals were delicious. We both had a coffee with our meal as well and though mine was a bit burnt it still didn’t spoil the experience. I will definitely be back next time I make a trip to Wellington!
Been here many times but I’ve never been a fan of this place. The service is rather average, the coffee is okay. The food tends to be very average. It’s just a very mundane place and has a mundane vibe. Whilst others appreciate the architecture of the place, which is admittedly very nice, the experience of coming here just doesn’t meet my standards. There are some places in Wellington which I love to go to with a friend, grab a coffee and then chat for hours – Smith’s isn’t that kind of place, it’s somewhere you go for 20 minutes, get a coffee and then leave, without having an experience that wows.
