Starbucks – a person can fall in love with them over and over again. One of my favourite places to hangout after a long walk with my best buddy. We had hazelnut signature and café mocha on several occasions. This outlet has few chairs along the walkway which gives a whole new experience to enjoying Starbucks
I like Starbucks coffee, I’m not ashamed to admit sometimes I just crave a Grande Mocha extra shot extra hot with whip and even though there is some incredible baristas and coffee companies in Wellington sometimes nothing beats Starbucks. I like the staff member with the Nine Inch Nails logo tattooed on his arm. His service is excellent. This place gets packed with tourists due to its prime location so waits can be a little long but that’s due to their popularity. The staff handle the busy pace really well.
I go here far too often early on a Monday and usually Thursday to get an unhealthy morning kick. I would say in general for all Starbucks they are quite expensive. This location has the benefits of being close to the arcade and down the lovely Lambton Quay so it’s pretty central. The staff are quick to get your order ready and there’s a nice upstairs seating area too. Overall a nice clean coffee shop but it’s more expensive than any other of your usual Mojo or general barista house. As for the coffee I usually have a green tea Frappuccino with whipped cream. They usually do it so it’s a little warm but last time the drink was cold so I was a bit surprised in a not.good.way. Keep it simple next time probably.
Staff are very friendly, I wanted to try the new Red Velvet Mocha (I’m not a huge fan of mochas as I find them too sweet). The staff warned me that it tasted like there was alcohol in it -there wasn’t and asked if that was okay with me because they didn’t want me to have a shock. The mocha was average didn’t look too appealing and was too sweet for my preference, but I loved the atmosphere of the joint. It’s a nice place to sit down and enjoy life. There’s faint music playing in the background and nicely lit. I’ve had coffee here before and it’s always really nice, for coffee it is slightly overpriced (coffee is already overpriced just even more pricier). I wouldn’t recommend the Red Velvet for anyone who doesn’t like the taste of alcohol or anyone who’s not a big fan of sugar – instead stick the the basics such as a flat white or latte those are good.
I don’t drink coffee so I ordered the iced chocolate or non coffee frappacino, weather was warmer than usual, it was perfect, delicious and just the pick me up I needed after having a dud lunch earlier on.
For the most part this place is decent like a typical Starbucks, but the manager is absolutely horrible! Watching her talk down to staff was uncomfortable.
This is actually my first try out of Starbucks.I ordered a passionfruit macaroon and a chocolate Frappuccino .The combination fitted well. The flavours of the frappuccino was above average for me.Not as quite as I expected. However overall I fond the experiment and my trip to Wellington composed it.
