I’ve been coming to The Annexe for a while, but usually for coffee or cabinet food to take away. Overall Todays experience was really good, but there was also room for improvement. The service was for the most part really good, with it not being an issue to tweak a bunch menu item to suit my dietary requirements. ( I ordered a hashstack w/o bacon). The hash stack was very different from anything I had enjoyed before. At first I was concerned about the balsamic drizzle and the fresh baby spinach and tomato, but I didn’t need to be. It was a really nice mix of textures and flavours. My only gripes were that there was just 1 egg, and the hash browns weren’t very crispy. The Annexe always does great coffee so kudos for that.
Fluffy Review #3: We were impressed by The Annexe. After ordering, we were brought a craftily presented beverage accompanied by a chocolate fish. Very sophisticated with a cute atmosphere to go with it. 4/5.
I visited 3 times. Coffee is not up to standards and comparable to what other places can make with Havana coffee. Why do the staff never smile?? I won’t go there again.
The hot chocolate and citrus cake were great. But all tables needed to be wiped down with some tables still having dirty dishes on them. Not a great look considering only a handful of people being here at the time. Would come again but would probably go for the takeaway option.
Honest they made one of the best coffees that i have ever tasted! the service was sensational, and the food was to die for!! Would definitely recommend and will keep going back for more! Great job Annexe keep it up.
I regularly visit the café – outside ‘peak’ hours, it is generally quiet and comfortable. Peak times (particularly lunch time) it can become very busy – a testimony to the quality of food and service.Food is good quality, coffee is good. Service is normally very quick and friendly, even at peak times.Recommended.Oh, and agree with the comment about the view over Lambton Quay, especially on a fine day.
Been here twice since changed name, both times they burnt my food, with my wife so was not able to send back or complain – once I can understand but come on how hard is it???Good spot – just buy a coffee safer(:
