About
Inaugurated in 2012, it is the first coffee shop in America managed entirely by deaf people. Winner of the Excelencias Gourmet 2017 award for the best social responsibility company in the world. Currently with branch in Managua, example of integration and business improvement with great impact on media around the world. In order to bring sign language to the general population, sign language classes are completely free and help to create empathy with the deaf community. The sign language classes are a project born with the coffee of the Smiles and are taught by specialized educators. Our mission is the creation of employment for people with disabilities, at the same time that our struggle is visualization and equity. We believe in self-sufficiency and that is why we undertake projects with social responsibility and economic self-management. In Nicaragua, after the basic education cycle, more than 90% are unemployed.Details
