The Cider House is located in Balestrand in an organic fruit orchard with more than 100 fruit varieties. We are situated a short 15 min walk along the fjord from Kviknes Hotel. Our restaurant is in a glass house with a panoramic view of the Sognefjord. The summer restaurant is in 2020 open from June 20th – August 20th. Monday – Saturday at 13-21 o'clock. The kitchen closes 21.00. Closed Sundays. The Cider House is an Economusee - Artisans at Work. In our cider cellar we use traditional methods to make "champagne-cider" and distill apple brandy. Join our interpretation program "Learn & Taste" where one of the family members interpret about fruit and cider. Including tasting of 5 samples of our ciders - Monday to Friday at 13.00 and 16.00. The Cider House has its own shop with 20 types of Balholm-ciders, fruit juices and food souvenirs from the orchard. In 2020 the shop is open from May 20th - Sept 20th from 13-18, Monday to Saturday.
