Lille-Skansen is a small family owned restaurant situated right next to the fjord at the Skansen harbour in Trondheim. We serve quality food in an informal and relaxed setting. Here you can enjoy the magnificent view of the fjord and watch the boats as they go in and out of the harbour. The restaurant and the new pedestrian area towards Brattra is widely used by locals, but not so well known by tourists. We also do closed parties, catering and events. Try our classic fish soup or one of our famous shrimp sandwiches while you are here. If you are lucky when you visit, you will get to see the two bridges open for traffic on the river. The newest and smallest bridge is for pedestrian and cyclists only, and is the latest addition to the towns infrastructure. The greater railway bridge has a much longer history: Finished in 1918, it was designed by Joseph Strauss, who also constructed the Golden Gate in San Francisco. Today this bascule bridge is one of the few of its kind left in the world and has been preserved by the Norwegian Directory for Cultural Heritage.
