The Lakhnavi celebrates a 200 year old culinary legacy tracing its lineage to the legendary chefs of the Nawabs of Awadh (Oudh) a.k.a the famous Qureshi family of Lucknow. In the 18th century the Qureshi's were given a royal decree by the King of Awadh to create a wholesome meal for the masses. As the culinary talent of the senior Qureshi chefs would have it the King was truly mesmerized by the food he had been served. He then invited the Qureshi's to cook in his royal kitchens. And from there started an era of Royal or Nawabi delicacies. The world renowned Qureshi brothers, Ashfaque & Irfan, having apprenticed under living legend & arguably Lucknow's best chef, Imtiaz Qureshi (their father), are the Lakhnavis behind 'The Lakhnavi' at Avari Lahore. Each dish has been conceptualised & perfected by the duo for Avari Hotel; a pioneer in Lakhnavi cuisine, in Pakistan. The Lakhnavi is Pakistan’s first attempt at a traditional Sub-Continental fine dining restaurant. The bold but gentle flavours and the velvety smooth textures at the Lakhnavi will leave you craving for more; whilst the ‘tehzeeb’ and ‘nazakat’ illustrated by our staff transports you to an era bygone.
