The only reason we had coffee here is due to the Taal Lake view. We ordered their mocha frappe, which has almost the same price as Starbucks. It tastes too sweet, and doesn’t taste like coffee. Not worth the price we paid.

Take this review with a pinch of salt. I’m not a huge coffee fan (in fact I drink coffee perhaps 2-3x a year, and always with a liberal dose of sugar)Anyway after a HEAVY lunch at Balay Dako,we decided to walk to Filibeans next door (it’s a bit hidden but is located in front of Leslie’s viewing deck of Taal Volcano)The views are amazing, the ambiance (and coffee smell) is great, and I love the outdoor seating (esp in February where the weather is nice and cool). The coffee, on the other hand, was so so (coming from a non regular coffee drinker). We got the civet coffee (which I found too bitter lol), and tres Lolas (an iced tablea and langka concoction) which I found weird

Good Ambience, Lazy CrewI ordered the brewed coffee and asked the guy if I can pls get a fresh milk to go with it, he told me they dont have it but can only give me the coffee creamer powder. My, you are a cafe and no milk? How can you make your latte then? And the fact that I saw it with my two eyes, they were pouring it for the next order. Super lazy crew! Coffee is so so.

It’s a small coffee shop located behind Leslies’ overlooking view deck. This is one of the nearest coffee shop in the Cliffhouse aside from starbucks. Price is ok. Ambiance is ok. 🙂

Filibeans is a small coffee place behind Leslie’s, along Aguinaldo Highway. The coffee shop fronts a popular viewing deck, and is a perfect go-to place after a heavy lunch or dinner at the famous bulalohan. The cafe is popular for its Kape Alamid, or coffee made from the droppings of the Asian palm civet. I don’t drink coffee, so I convinced one of my friends to try a cup. I settled for a glass of malunggay frappe, exclusive to the cafe, while another friend had a cup of Tres Machos Barako for P75. The cafe also has a selection of cakes and pastries, but we were still too full to eat anything so we settled for just drinks instead. We each took a sip of Kape Alamid and found it terribly bitter. We also agreed that the coffee is too expensive (P250 per cup), but then again, civet coffee is the most expensive coffee in the world. My friends liked the barako coffee way better. As for me, I was very satisfied with my malunggay frappe. It was not too sweet, and the malungggay taste isn’t overpowering either.

Just behind Leslie’s restaurant is a small coffee shop with good quality of coffee. I’d recommend this for people who want to grab their coffee and dessert after lunch or dinner. I got my favorite, Iced Americano, and the aroma and taste goes fine (you know its authentic ground coffee bean). Enjoy a clear view of Taal Lake and volcanoe as well while enjoying a slice of their Sansrival.

This place is inside Leslie’s, which I think is a very good idea! After a sumptuous meal, you can chill and relax while enjoying the view of Taal. Even though the cafe itself is a bit small, the interior is very nice and cute.. We tried their blueberry cheesecake, one special thing is the cheese on the top side of the cake. Taste is decent for an affordable price of Php71 per slice. You can munch on 1-2 slices in no time!
