Decided to have a late lunch here since we were on our way to Museo Orlina. Despite it being relatively after the lunch rush, the restaurant was still quite full. We were seated near the view deck, and was pleased to be able to get some breeze while eating our food.I’m not a big fan of bulalo, so we just ordered beef steak, fresh lumpia, plain rice, and buko juice. Our food was served promptly, and piping hot. I was even surprised to get a bowl of bulalo soup (with some crisp veggies) for free!Everthing we ordered was really flavorful and well-made. The beef was tender, and was nicely seasoned, with the saltiness of the soy cut back by the citrus flavor. The fresh lumpia, though it looked plain and just drowning in sauce, had crisp fillings contrasting with the soft wrapper. Their serving size of rice was also bigger than what I’m used to.I would’ve given it a 5, if not for their tendency to delay cleaning up the tables. We had to wait for the tables to be cleaned although they were already vacated for a while. Foodwise though, it was spot-on. Proof of that is our lack of photos of the food we ordered. It was that good 🙂

Ambiance is classic and the place is spacious. We went here on a Friday night. They accommodated guests well. I love their bagoong rice. And the other day we dined here again. Bagoong rice and seafood rice that is good for 2 can be shared by 3. Sisig tastes well. Lechon kawali tastes the same as what we are used to. Mango juice is so delicious! This is a must-try restaurant in Tagaytay. I’d love to try their seafood dishes next time.

My husband and I went here for our Pre-Anniv dinner. I chose this place to benchmark its Chicharon bulaklak with other restos. Unfortunately, it wasn’t available that time. So we opted for their Classic Sisig. At first look, it was not inviting. It looks very dry and the food isn’t making any sizzling sound on the plate. It only gave off a slight sizzle when we pour the calamnsi on the sisig. But the taste is very far from its appearance. It was a sure hit for us! Especially that my husband is very particular with his sisig. We almost forgot that we also ordered Lechon kawali which was also good. Our orders were perfect paired with their garlic rice. We had their Sago Gulaman pitcher for our drink and I liked it – – It’s not too sweet, just perfect. Because other Sago Gulamans were too sweet that I had to order extra shaved ice just to mellow down the sweetness. It took a while before our orders were served considering we were their only customers that night but we didn’t care tjat much because they have such friendly staff. I’m guessing since they were about to close when we came, they stopped cooking food to avoid spoilage so tbey had to prepare our meal from scratch.I’d definitely go back here with my family for Lunch so we could enjoy the view because their location overlooks the Taal Lake.

It was an exotic food quest for our group & itik we did. We got their 2 itik dishes, kinulob & kaldareta. Kinulob na itik (P300) is essentially fried itik. If you’re a fan of fried pigeon, then you’d appreciate this dish. 🙂 kaldaretang itik (P320) is a rich tomato and liver stew, the itik base makes this unique & yummy dish. :)We also got their fried tawilis & pinakbet. The fried tawilis we got was unfortunately/fortunately meaty so we didnt get to eat it whole (with head, bones & tail). Pinakbet was a bit sweet to the taste, but still good. Serving staff deserve a 5 thumbs up for friendliness & accommodation. They gave us free steaming hot bulalo soup. Total food bill was P1,300 for 4pax. A bit pricey but just right for exotic dining.

What better way to get a view of Taal Volcano and Taal lake than to go up to Tagaytay and relax at Kaye and Ryan Grill? It was a cloudy morning when my parents and I decided to hear mass at the Adoration Convent of Sisters of Divine Mercy (Pink Sisters). After mass, we stopped by our favorite food haunt and proceeded to feast. :)We started our morning with a delicious plate of Crispy Tawilis, priced at Php190, good for 2 to 3 persons. True to its name, this little fish was crunchy! A little salty, but hey, that’s what we wanted. This may sound weird for some but crispy tawilis was perfectly paired with Nilagang Bulalo, the sinfully dangerous bone marrow delicacy of the Southern Tagalog provinces. This restaurant serves two sizes of bulalo: medium (Php415), which serves 2 to 3 persons and large (Php775), good for 5 to 6 persons. Really good value for family and for barkadas. The green vegetables of the bulalo was not overcooked and the marrow itself was soft.I know it’s bad to eat too salty and too oily foods considering my profession in health care, but heck, bad is good! So very good that it ruins my diet. ????Kaye and Ryan Grill is my favorite go-to-place at Tagaytay. The ambiance is easy-going, with a wonderful view, and it doesn’t necessarily need air conditioning during early mornings and night. This is a perfect getaway for families, friends, and couples.
