I’ve been here for several times already but recently I encountered a very terrible scenario. We went here with my boyfriend, sister and my sister’s boyfriend. We ordered the same meal. The plate used to serve our food was this rattan plate. I was in the middle of eating my food when I noticed that I am already scratching the paper placed on top of the rattan plate, and that’s when I saw a terrible thing. I saw these rice residue sticking on the plate and it seems like it’s been there for a veeeeery long time! It already turned black which makes it so disgusting. Their plates are never washed! Knowing that there are few people dining like me that usually scratches the paper while eating. I used ti love their lechon meal but this incident made me thought about not going back. I strongly suggest this resto to alter their plates for the safety and hygiene of the customers.
We really enjoyed their spicy lechon belly, and dinuguan too.. but the puso is about to spoil, if youre looking for a spicy lechon belly, try niyo to, malasa..
I like the place. They also have accommodating staffs. Their restroom is clean. I also like their sauce, it compliments very well with the lechon. Prices are very affordable as well.
Had a very quick trip to Cebu last weekend. Always a Cebu stop: Cebu’s Original Lechon Belly! Ordered the spicy version with puso (hanging rice) and atsara (pickled papaya). Make sure to ask for more of the spicy stuff they put inside the lechon. Of course, we did take back home to Manila kiloSSSSS of this too! For us, so much better than other lechon brands.Only 1 big let down is the lechon arrives an hour or two after they open. So make sure you do plan your visit.
As part of our lechon hopping, we tried Cebu’s Original Lechon Belly in SM City Cebu. It’s pricey than the other lechon places that we’ve tried since we’re talking about the belly here. They will give you disposable gloves and a bamboo plate for a more personal experience. We had 1/4 kilo of the spicy lechon belly, which is good for two. We’ve also ordered three of their puso or hanging rice. And we’re not wrong! The meat was tender and the skin was flavorful. I liked their sauce, it goes very well with the lechon belly. It was a bit oily, but I didn’t feel the ‘umay’ factor since I was actually craving for more.I recommend this place if you want to be happily full 🙂
Their lechons here are not as crispy as their other branches. The place is also poorly lit which is difficult for people who has difficulty with poorly lit places. Their wash area has no dryer or paper towels so you’d have to bring your own tissue/paper towel to dry off after washing.
We went to this branch today with my wife to take our lunch before going home to lapu-lapu. We normally eat Cebu’s Original letchon especially in Capitol square branch and maxwell as it is near our house. However, this time when we got our orders, the puso they serve is already about to spoil and looking into it you can easily tell that it’s slimy and anyone who might eat it will get food poisoned or some sort of it.
