If you’re craving Filipino foods and on a budget, this is the place to go! My mom is raving about their seafood mung bean soup.

We went here with our client from Australia for our lunch out. I really love Filipino restos and it feels like their specialties and delicacies have a special place in my heart. What I loved about their menu (and I could still recall the taste while typing this review) is their calamari (very soft and crispy) and crispy pata (tender and crunchy). The grilled bangus is seasoned & grilled well too. Though we have varieties of order but these are my favorites. You never go home not feeling BUSOG here at BOOSOG!

Located at the uptown of CEBU city, this place is another restaurant serving Filipino food. Serves unorthodox Filipino food not found in other restos. Food was not bad, but find it too salty. A good dining experience though. thegastronomist.org

No problem with the food. Good Filipino cuisine. Just make sure you order everything at once especially when the place gets full. We had to change our orders since the server said 2 dishes were not available after checking with the kitchen. Each additional order took 10-15 damn minutes even if we’re talking about an extra single serve garlic rice. Almost done with every dish served then the rice arrives. Bummer.

Good food good place. They are abit understaffed but nonetheless worth eating in this place. Would definiteley comeback for the chicken and pata.

There’s really not much to say but only this:We frequent BOOSOG because we love their food and the prices are affordable. Let my photos entice your appetite to visit any Boosog branches in Cebu. youtu.be

My family has always been a fan of Boosog, waay before it had its branch near STC. A 2-3 minute walk from Mango Avenue, Boosog can be immediately spotted with its Gazebo like structure at the front giving the restaurant an almost native-like vibe. You can either choose to be seated outside or inside with air-conditioning. Our family usually eats inside because outdoor seating can sometimes be humid. Because we went there around 6 pm, we were immediately seated and were given menus. Menu was composed of a variety of Filipino dishes – vegetables, beef, pork, chicken and seafood. Name it and they got it! For most of their dishes, I find their prices reasonable enough. However, their vegetable dishes are quite pricey, which is why we seldom order them. This time we ordered their crispy pata, nilagang baka, grilled kitong and grilled squid. We’ve sampled their fried chicken before and I don’t really recommend it. As usual, their crispy pata was great! Pretty consistent throughout all my experiences in Boosog. Crispy skin, not oily and soft meat. Also, served warm. Nilagang baka was good for 3-4 persons. It was served hot and was cooked to perfection. Beef melts in your mouth and the soup was delicious! Bonus points because it used a lot of ingredients. Grilled squid was a bit small but it tasted absolutely divine – soft and hot. They used a lot of stuffing such as onions and green onions, which really brought out the taste of the squid. Grilled kitong was cooked until moist. Kudos for the cook for preveting the fish to dry. Rice was not ganador-level but I can’t really expect much since it was unli rice at 45 php. Food was served within 15-20 minutes. But one thing I noticed was that, they were quite slow with their water refills. We had to remind the staff around 3 times before our glasses were refilled. However, it was a minor slip-up from the overall experience. Will definitely come back here again!
