Viking’s has been a true behemoth in the All-You-Can-Eat scene here in Cebu. With a wide assortment and above average pace in replenishing your favorite assortments, it’s no wonder why people tend to associate buffet with Viking’s. Viking’s has now introduced their newest addition to their restaurant family. Let me introduce you to their very slow and disappointing brother, Tong Tang Plus. It’s more waiting than eating here. So, give it some thought before dining here. The Food ⭐️⭐️ – Yes they do have quality meats there, but once it gets depleted a couple of times they won’t replenish it ever again. Instead, they’re gonna replace it with some cheap vegetable or some off cut. Let’s be honest, we’re there for the premium meats, the Japanese cuisine and the Chinese station aka Hakao [Har Gow / Hakaw]. Their dessert spread is just terrible. The choices are very limited. I will give them credit for the personal Shabu-Shabu though.The Place ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- The only redeeming factor for them right now is the place which is just the right amount of comfy for a big buffet styled restaurant. The view can sometimes be amazing if there are no ships around which I highly doubt.The Service ⭐️ – Where do I start? Abysmal refilling speed has to be the number one problem here. It’s like they don’t want to serve you the quality meats. Managers/Supervisors become frantic because the queuing for refills tends to build up. Inattentive staff which results in plates piling up which is unsanitary to watch. And to think they have been operating way above 6 months now. Also just get rid of the birthday parade if your staff will just make it an avenue for meaningless shouting and mischief.The Value ⭐️⭐️- How can you put value on something you don’t get? I feel sorry for those that arrived an hour past the service time. They didn’t get to try the premium meats and plenty of other assortments. All they had left were just the leftover pickings. I really would advise diners from steering clear from Tong Yang Plus. I myself won’t be coming back here. I’d rather just go to Vikings and eat Shabu-Shabu/Yakiniku at some other place. They need to address this management problem before they meet their early demise.
