Kayu has all the important factors in choosing a restaurant: comfortable ambience, good service, and quality of food. You have an atmosphere that encourages conversation with good lighting so you can see the delicious dish you’re enjoying! My favorite is the glazed salmon and I can eat it every single day! Kayu is definitely the best restaurant in Cebu!

The food was superb! It was full of adventures! The food was released and served fast, kudos to the kitchen crew for it, highly recommend the dedicated staff. But, the only downside was the servers. Everyone, I mean everyone was on their phones even the receptionist was. They were all laughing around when there were other customers calling them, I even heard some of the male servers cursing around because the music was low so my guests also heard their constant cursing and laughter in front of their phones. Really sad, when you have a great engine working in your restaurant but the front isn’t living up to the expectation. None the less, I would always come back but for only the food, not the service. I hope the owners would give them more proper training. Thank you!

neatly hidden in 32 sanson road is this restaurant. can’t think of enough superlatives to describe this place.. ambience, design, set up, food, menu, service, music was 101% perfect. perhaps the only thing i would negatively comment about is their serving sizes. it was small for the price but everything else in the restaurant more than makes up for it.

Took a long drive to this restaurant only to find that some stupid kid’s birthday party had booked the entire place, giving us no choice but to turn back. Call me unreasonable, but I shouldnt have to check your FB just to see if a business actually feels like doing business, especially if youre not a reservation only kind of place. Thanks for wasting our time. But hey, some rich 10 year old is happy, so who cares right? I’m sure with all your success you’re not gonna miss the loss of my patronage much, but here it is anyway. Never again. BUH. BYE!

I have always eyed this place due to it’s beautiful interior and location. It’s so serene. You would forget that you’re right in the middle of the city.I had their Fish Taco – cooked thin and crispy in perfection. The spicy glazed tuna was too sweet for me though. Tuna was raw so I expected it to have this refreshing citrus sour taste, like a tartare. For entree, I ordered their Charred Octopus. The meat was cooked well done, the amazing part is it wasn’t rubbery at all. Hands down to that! It had bits of grilled pomelo which really went well with the octopus and promesco sauce. It was laid on a bed of squash risotto, which is pretty much the downfall of the dish. Risotto was overcooked and a bit too buttery for me. The fat from the butter lingered on my palate. But, besides that, what a perfect dish. For dessert, I had the Sizzling Caramel Bar and Chocolate Fix. For the caramel dessert, the bar was too dry and crumbly. It was a bit of a struggle getting a bite size with your spoon. Caramel sauce was lovely and smooth. The best part of this dessert. Chocolate Fix was a treat. It was a beautiful plate. That brushed chocolate sauce and crumbs with a vanilla liqeur sorbet. Perfection! Be careful ordering this when sharing with kids, only bec of its alcohol.
