Again Lunch buffet in this hotel. We don’t have to complain concerning what we get for what we pay. Someone playing for us ‘La vien rose’ on piano so beautifully while we having our lunch. The food this time: Gulasch (same taste like I have in Europe all time), SeaFood mix, Chicken Adobo, Kakiage. Dessert was carrot cake with raisin and nuts. All taste good. We paid at 10th Dove more than 1k for food which not tasted good at all. Old review: After trying the food around Park Mall, Time Square like Chobi-Chobi, David Tea time, 10th Dove etc. we decided to try the food in a hotel. They have lunch buffet for only 300p. The ambient is nice with someone playing piano. The choices were not so big, 3 main courses: Bicol Express, Chicken Halang2, Beef and many others add ons like pasta. We don’t eat much so maybe not the right choice for us (buffet), but we decide to come again because of the ambient. The service was very good too. The food is ok, above average after we tried around this area. All is question of what we pay and what we get, so in my opion they deserve 4 stars minimum.
It was a nice experience. Will surely comeback since is a good place to hangout if you prefer piano and jazz themes. The live music was awesome. The elegant dining room and bar are totally make you order for more. The price is not so expensive for a palatable food choices. Yummy fry baked chicken and soup of the day was beyond my expectations.
My friend and I booked this hotel last February (2017) when we decided to have a get-together session with our other friends in Cebu. It is by far the best breakfast I’ve ever tried. There were many choices. However, the only downside that I can say is that the fruit drinks were not so good and were not cold when we ate there. It feels like the litro pack from the convenient store which is too sugary. It could have been done better.
I have never tried their buffet and I didn’t know that there was such.Anyways, their ala carte servings were quite small, although the taste was by far impressive. The flavors were great, and they always try to add a little more presentation and garnishings.Since the first time I have visited this restaurant up to my recent visit, I have noticed how they have tried to broaden their menu in response with the demand from the public. The restroom was great: clean, cool, and pleasant smelling.
On impulse, our family decided to travel to Mandaue one Saturday morning last Sep. to check out BIG Kitchen & Bar’s breakfast buffet. Entering as walk-ins we paid Php 250 each; however, the food turned out to be mediocre and the variety was too limited. The restaurant may be named “Big” but the buffet choices were rather small; something you wouldn’t expect to find in a restaurant of a promising chic hotel. So sparse was the variety that it wasn’t difficult to remember the dishes on display that morning: Pork Tocino, Steamed Fish & Sausage. That’s right, just 3 main courses for a buffet. Prepare to be disappointed if you’re hoping to have bacon or danggit for breakfast. The coffee was all right but the orange & pineapple juices tasted like one of those fruit-flavored powdered drinks mixed in cold water. The only saving grace was the garlic fried rice and egg omelets. To be fair, the hotel’s industrial-themed décor was remarkable and the staff was accommodating. But overall, BIG fell short of our expectations and may not be the place suited for a satisfying buffet experience.
Breakfast buffet has very limited choices but not so bad either.Good enough for not so heavy breakfast persons like me. If there’s one that I like, the bread pudding is probably it.
Their breakfast was okay for a 200-peso buffet. I really enjoyed their bread pudding! What I loved most was their all-day French and International cuisine dining. A must-try is their Medaillon of Duxelle Crusted Fillet of Beef Tenderloin (Php390). Inviting at the first look, the beef is also very tender with five varying flavors that keeps your palate guessing. They also have Singaporean Chili Crabs at (Php 295) which I haven’t tried yet, hopefully next time. Also, try their quick treats for an afternoon munch. Their Holsin Pork Tenderloin Sandwiches (Php 190) were really filling. End the day sweet with their cakes of the day with offerings such as Tiramisu and Blueberry Cheesecake at Php 125 each. Gulp it all down with their Guyabano Shake at Php 125. kingofsinulog.wordpress.com
