Can’t believe an Italian restaurant like this exists on a small island off of Cebu!!We ate here twice during our 2-day trip to Bantayan.On our first night, we had bruschetta (super good, very garlic-y), then tagliatelle bolognese pasta (authentic, hand made pasta), then margherita pizza cookd in a brick oven (the sauce was so good!!!). My boyfriend is a pizza monster, we must have eaten at half of the pizza joints in Manila, gotta say, their pizza was at par with the best pizzas in the capital. We also ordered a bottle of their Italian wine. The meal was delish! Gotta say, what let us down was the dessert–we ordered gelato, but it was basically Selecta ice cream. But damn, overall, super nice meal!On our second night, we ordered the garlic bread w mozzarella & aubergine. The combo was soooo delicious! Then we had the ravioli & pizza Cafe Del Mare. Again, delicious! Crust of the pizza perfectly cooked. We skipped dessert this time 😉 Also ordered the calamansi capirihna, super good!The place was pretty busy (at one point the whole town had a black out, but they have their own power generator), but the waitresses still attended politely to our orders. Ambience is also perfect-gives an awesome beach vibe.Best restaurant in Bantayan, definitely 🙂
Zero, if only it were possible. Wanted to try this restaurant as it was recommended by our Resort owner, unfortunately as we sat down at the bar, we were completely ignored and given a cold stare by the unbelievably incompetent waitresses that night of January 26, 2017 (the chinky eyed one specially, but as well as the pregnant one). We asked for her attention many times, and she acted as though we were invisible. Totally unfriendly. When she finally had the nerve to stand in front of us without even a greeting, we dropped the menu on the table in front of her and left to express out disgust. I hope the owner of this Restaurant will take note of this. Unverschämt! We went to Cou cou Bar then for Pizza and Drinks, great Service!
This was top of the list for restos to try in Bantayan. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t that good. Went there via pedicab and didn’t have change to pay our driver, asked the bar if they had change for P100 pesos and they said no. Really, at dinner time no change?? I told them I would be eating there and they still said no. Had to get change from a peanut vendor. We walked inside and took us about a minute to be seated because the waitresses were ignoring us. Total wait for the food was about 40mins. Ordered the prosciutto pizza, although good it was overpowered by the abundance of arugula. If it had more cheese or maybe tomato sauce it would have been perfect. Ordered the caffee del mare pasta which is a white sauce with mushrooms and bacon. Good but it lacked flavor. Maybe more cheese or salt. Overall, it’s a good resto in the island. But they could improve in service and hospitality more.
Its our first time in bantayan, and me and my gf looked it up here in zomato. All i can say is that they have the best italian dishes. the ambiance makes it a great place for date nights in the island! If ever you get a chance to eat here, dont forget to order pasta and pizza! Its superbilicous!!!!
Worth to try when in Bantayan Island. Exquisite italian chill place. Good ambiance and superb food. The staff was attentive and accomodating to us. Try their pasta and pizza.
At first, I thought they serve the typical pastas. I was so amazed when the pastas where so authentic. It was indeed an Italian who made this dish! We had their sizzling squid (spicy), spaghetti bolognese and spaghetti carbonara. Their carbonara was perfect! It was indeed creamy and not dry compared to other carbonaras. The bread though was soft and was baked well. The place is very cool. Staff were friendly and attentive! habhabcebu.com
