Tang Hot Pot and Roastings | Considered as one of the hole-in-the wall restaurants thst you can find along the tiny streets of San Juan City, Mala Tang Hot Pot & Roastings is a family owned restaurant. Passion and ❤️ for food is what drives the owner to continue to explore and remake Asian Dishes. This humble store may be tiny but it has a lot to offer. Currently, most of their customer were ordering via phone call and then picking up when ready.Roastings are their best sellers, mainly Roast Duck, Pork Asado, Lechon Macau, Hong Kong White Chicken and Hong Kong Soy Chicken. The store was recently included at the Top 10 Best Hong Kong Roasts in Manila that was published by the ESQUIREMAG.PH and little by little, the store is already gaining popularity. Aside from roastings, they also have Shabu-Shabu and other signatures diahes that one must try. Price range is very reasonable considering the serving size and the quality of tge dishes are always vetted. The stores provides limited parking space but is encouraging everyone to try their pick up option. It is as easy as Call-Order-Pickup. Call the store, place your orders and pick up when ready. If you live aroubf the area, GrabFood may be available.
Place is quite small and parking can be a problem. The staff was friendly and provided good service. They were out of lechon macau when we visited so I only got to try their pork asado and shabu shabu. We did like the asado – tender, flavorful, not overly sweet. As for the shabu shabu, I chose the malasate broth – a bit spicy, flavor not too strong. They have quite a good selection of balls for the shabu shabu.

A small unassuming place situated here in san juan, the humble place looks old but cozy.We ordered the classic Gulam-Mi, some of their roastings(asado, lechon macau, and white chicken), and a bowl of custom shabu shabu.Let me start by saying that the Gulam-Mi did not disappoint! Having lived in binondo my whole life, I can say that even there, you will have a hard time finding a gulam-mi this good. The broth was so light yet flavorful, the noodles could be better though as it was a little too soft for me. The gulam(beef brisket and innards) was very tender and flavorful.I never expected the roasting to be good as well, specially not here in san juan. But boy was I wrong! These roastings are all excellent, everything was done right from the juicy pork and perfectly crispy skin of the lechon, to the tender and succulent char siu. I can say they must know what they are doing with their meat! For the shabu shabu, we asked for the satay broth which was light and soothing, the ingredients we chose complimented the soup, it wasn’t very impressive but still good nontheless. This place is definitely a must try!
A very satisfying hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. We ordered toasted duck and Soy Chicken, and they were both had good taste. They may even compare to those chain roasted duck restaurants! A lot of people order via phone and pick up the food as there are only 2 parking spaces, and very small dining space. The interior can use some improvement. Serving size is worth your money!
Been wanting to try this place cause we have been hearing how good they are. However their very small parking area is the biggest obstacle. When one dinner time we passed by and there was parking we took the chance. Upon entering I was unimpressed. Not much effort was put into the interiors. I felt discouraged as I placed my order. I had duck rice and a side of asado. The asado was average. But the duck, was very good! Juicy and smoky, i wish I had ordered more. Will be back for the duck. #musttry @mala tang
