Manila’s best kept secret! Reasonable eat all you can steak/jumbo shrimp/fish at a reasonable below 1000php tag. Steak is always a beautiful medium to medium rare (upon request), while the jumbo shrimp is juicy and tender! The lamb, seafood and beef come with an assortment of sauces upon request. One underwhelming dish though is the salmon – quite dry.Edit: Buffet is now around 1420php (as of Feb 2018). Food is still good. It took awhile to contact the reservations desk compared to last year.

The fancy interior and the courteous staff are the first impressions you notice when you come in.For a restaurant at this caliber, impressions have very reasonable prices for their dishes. They also have eatigo 50% off too which makes it totally worth it. The portions are even big! But not all the dishes lived up to their expectations. The first thing that was served was their complimentary bread and butter, the bread totally set the expectations for the rest of the meal as it was warm, crusty and soft on the inside. However, we were disappointed with a few dishes which we ordered. The oyster rockefeller tasted nothing like oyster. The seafood marinara pasta was too bland I had to put some salt in it.The braised lamb was very tender but tasted nothing like lamb. And the lasagna sheets with cheese below was just too much. Not all the dishes were bad though. The salads were well balanced and very tasty. Specially the smoked bacon. The pasta carbonara was very creamy and flavorful. The mixed seafood platter was good. Specially the garlic butter dip that went with it.The mushroom soup although did not look very appetizing, tasted amazing. Creamy, earthy, and wonderfully seasoned.Overall, for the excellent service alone, Impressions is definitely a must try, we didn’t get a chance to try the steak but we definitely will in the future, the dishes were all worth it at their respective price point.

Was here for a proper French meal and discovered their BBQ Madness meal promotion, a steal at P1,500.Soup, mashed potatoes and ratatouille accompanied hefty servings of steak, prawn, very tender young lamb, very tender young duck. All ingredients were of prime quality and treated gently on the grill, maybe with less sear and char than I’d like, but nothing was overcooked, which mattered more to me than an aggressive grilling.I tend to wonder if the direction of this restaurant led by Cyrille Soenen may be headed away from the haute cuisine it promises, and while some of the finesse I expected in the food seems to have been set aside, there is lots of care and attentiveness in the service, of a level one does not and will not see in many hip, up and coming restaurants plying the scene today.

We ordered the unlimited grill package for 888++ per head. You can order-all-you-can on ribeye steak, lamb chops, salmon, tuna, tiger prawn and french duck breast. First of all, they don’t have proper napkins; what sort of steakhouse would give you paper napkins? My initial impressions (no pun intended) weren’t great because of this and the fact that a string quartet cover of Versace on the Floor was playing in the background. The complimentary soup to start was quite good – pumpkin cream soup with bacon bits I believe. Skip the tuna, everything else is adequate. The food isn’t out-of-this world amazing but we enjoyed it enough to have multiple servings. However, the steaks we ordered sometimes didnt come medium rare like we requested and the duck breast was overcooked once. Each plate you order comes with some mashed potatoes and ratatouille, both of which are tasty. For 888 it was fine. Would recommend.

Impressions is our favorite place to celebrate special occasions. I remember dining here one New Year’s Eve. There was so much commotion outside the restaurant with all the holiday merry-making yet my family enjoyed a quiet and sumptuous dinner. We were given noise makers for the midnight count down, but we relished the quiet moment, since new year can be chaotic especially in hotels. Last Valentines eve, I had the French Duck Breast, while my husband tried the Prime Rib. Everything was perfect from the duck liver salad, scallops mousse and the mixed berries and chocolate dessert. The big surprise was the Mignardises, which Chef Soenen, ceremoniously cracked the delight of the lovers.

Our company held a series of meetings here where the food served were simply to die for! I love the twists the Chef Cyrill Soenen made on classic dishese as well as the sheer variety of dessert options. The wait staff were also friendly and accommodating. beingjellybeans.com

I love that the place is quiet and cozy and the servers are very attentive. Being attentive is one thing, but it is also important to know exactly whats on the menu, how it is done and what its made of. Well, at least I would expect that from a fine dining resto. The price is reasonable. The portions are good and filling. You can create your own set menu for php950++ for appetizer or main + dessert OR for php1500++ for appetizer+main+dessert. 🙂
