We tried One Pot’s Php688 unlimited pork and beef hotpot and we were quite disappointed with the experience. The meats were just a bit too fatty for us. We had their bone broth and mushroom soup as base and both were OK.
You’d probably notice several chinese hot pot restos that sprung in the metro after more than 100 thousand chinese national move in the Ph. Wondering how their hot pot tastes and differs from the usual shabu-shabu place, I purchased 2 vouchers from Metrodeal forn 439 each instead of 688 per head. The ‘unli’ is good for 2 hours and includes fatty beef and pork belly. But other items are served once only. I.e.Veggies, noodles, balls (beef, cheese and sea urchin).Service is ok. Another thing that you’d find cool at One Pot is their pot. They have this remote thingy which controls the temperature of your soup and there’s this button wherein if you click it, the meat/veggies/balls will be raised from the pot without the soup. Also, I found out that the owner of Jin Joo also owns One Pot.Would I pay P688 on a normal circumstances? Probably not. I find it a lil expensive given that the basic veggies are not included in the unli.I would’ve rated it 4.5 if .5 is available in the rating system.
One Pot is a new Chinese hotpot restaurant located at the sprawling SMDC Shore Residences. At home with unfamiliar Chinese restaurants sprouting within the area, they are bound to capture the market with their new and innovative way of serving hotpot to the discriminating residents and diners of Pasay and beyond. They offer a plethora of meats, vegetables, seafood and dimsum to pair with your soup base. You have an option to get two soup base with one being a default Szechuan. It is a very hot soup base, which our server discourages us from sipping. Although some may be adventurous enough to try taking a sip, best if you use it to cook you meats and then douse in their varied sauces available for you to mix and match according to your taste. The sauces, dips and other condiments are all you can, but make sure to get only what you can consume, to avoid wastage.I enjoyed the beef cuts, they pride themselves in having ‘Manila’s longest meat platter’ and the platter sure enough covered the entire table. Manage your eating expectations because serving is based on a la carte and getting too much may not give you enough table space. Staff were friendly and accomodating. The place had beautiful interiors but the afternoon sun can be a little too much for the air-conditioning to handle during our visit. Recommended when in the MOA Complex.
