Original MamiOriginal Mami has firm and chewy noodles. The soup on the otherhand is just like the typical noodle broth but adding asado sauce to the soup will upgrade the taste of the mami due to the mixture of sweet and salty flavor that it added to the broth.Original Mami has two sizes, regular (Php 150) and special (Php 160).Beef WantonLike Masuki’s Original Mami, Beef Wanton has firm and chewy noodles. Beef Wanton’s broth on the otherhand is meaty and sweeter.Beef Wanton is available in regular (Php 215) and special (Php 230)Asado SiopaoAsado Siopao has soft mantao filled with savory pork floss. Masuki’s Siopao goes well with their Original Mami.Asado Siopao has two sizes, regular (Php 60) and special (Php 95). traveleatpinas.com
You can really see and say that the place is an established binondo food destination base on old furnitures and pictures displayed around the interior of the restaurant. My brother ordered chicken mami. Serving can be shared for 2. I love the noodles.. firm a little bit chewy but cooked the right way. Staff are nice and attented. Its an experience to dine here while looking back all those photo.
Their asado siopao regular was so big, it was already filling in itself. We also tried their Asado Mami and Beef Wanton Mami. The serving was very generous for the price, especially the noodles. The broth tasted the same for all the mami, the only difference is the topping (or sahog) that comes with it. I kinda liked the asado sauce they serve every dish with. The servers were not very attentive, which made the service really slow. The place also didn’t have air conditioning so be warned! Will try this again to reaffirm my opinion, but overall a good hole-in-the-wall experience. This is my go to place every time I’m at the Binondo Area (kaya hindi ko pa nasusubukan yung ibang authentic Chinese restos dito). My usual order would be their Special Original Mami along with Special Asado Siopao (Jumbo) and 3 pcs of Siomai. Though in the past, kelangan mo talaga lagyan ng Siopao sauce yung Soup ng Mami dahil sa kakaibang amoy nito (though still eatable naman), I’m glad malaki na yung improvement ng Sabaw ng mami nila. Hehe. Be back this Chinese New year to grab some. ^_^
