The restaurant that me and my family love the most. Everything in their menu is great. Mas gugustuhin pang kumain dito ng mga kapatid ko kesa magparty for their birthday eh. Their lovin’ the vintage style ambience. Service was great. All worth it for this restaurant.
Our new favorite here at Chubbies is the java lechelog. The lechon is very well done crispy on the outside and very tender and juicy on the inside. We’ve tried their pancit con lechon, sisig, sinigang con lechon, kare kare, classic burger, fish and chips! We loved all of it. The best part is that their servings are really huge. Super bang for the buck talaga dito that’s why we keep coming back.
We were supposed to dine in another restaurant but my husband disagreed with my first choice. I had to quickly find another restaurant and chance upon Chubbies. It was obvious that it was a house turned into restaurant but I hope they could have considered putting the appropriate tables and chairs as it felt too cramped. I felt like they just placed them to say that there are tables and chairs. The table where we were sitted in was not at par with the size and kind of chair as it was a sofa chair and the table was quite high and uneven sort of like a garden table made of old bark wood. You can just imagine how difficult it was to eat in this kind of table. We ordered Mango Puree, Seafood Kare Kare and Cheesy Baked Bangus. I might have ordered the wrong food in their menu because I think it’s quite overpriced. Taste wise it’s okay. Cheesy Baked Bangus has a weird taste of sour and saltiness. Seafood Kare-Kare wise, it’s like mixed seafood placed on a peanut sauce with vegetables. Plus, the meat in their alamang is very tough. It was like I was eating a pebble. It’s also ironic that they have an enclosed with AC restaurant and yet there was a fly spying around our table. Though they have very polite and attentive servers who will immediately rushed to your table once you rang the bell. If I’m coming back to this restaurant, probably it’s not my first option.
I love everything about Chubbies! the food, ambiance and employees. This is the place where my boyfriend gave me a promise ring and even the employees were part of the surprise and they did gave me a great time and I just want to thank everyone who participated and supported my boyfriend on that day. I love the lechon burger? and the carbonara, compliments to the chefs and the team as well. Can’y wait to come back here.
Chubbies has been a mainstay in Lilac St for years now! For my first few visits years before, I’ve always gone for the carbonara and iced caramel frappe. The carbonara has egg in it so it’s better tasting compared to other restos. Their iced caramel frappe is HUGE. Would recommend this for sweet toothed coffee lovers! On my latest visit though, I split the burger with my sister – it’s good for sharing.
Must try ang Lechon Macau and Sinigang. I like their pizza and cakes too. We’ve been here more than 5 times and will definitely go back. One of my favorites
