I love playing board games. Yet weird enough, I haven’t veeb to any boardgame cafe ever. So when I got an invitation to go to one, I just had to say yes.Just as we enter Dawg’s, I couldn’t help but squeal in excitment because the tables were glued with actual boardgames on them. A fee more steps and there was a whole shelf of various games for diners to enjoy. Since there was a lot of us, we decided to settle upstairs where they had more games and even an area for gig performances.Check out my personal favorites:- Dips Roulette (php 399) – good for sharing between 2-3 people. It comes with fries, chips, and nuggets (super facve) and about 10 different dips that spins. Literally like playing actual roulette!- Filipino breakfast platter (Php 250) – good for 2 and has 2 cups of garlic rice, danggit, tuyo, yummy tocino, and itlog maalat with tomatoes- Philly Cheesesteak (php 150) – tasty enough but wish it was cheesier and had beef slices instead of ground- Vanilla Milkshake (Php150) – sweet and milkyI would suggest to skip on the Mac n’ cheese and the NY hotdog. They also have milktea and coffee towers at php 299 each. hungrytravelduo.com

A cafe where you can play gameboards, cards, and other games. It has very cool interior, perfect place for chilling and hanging out with your barkada. For me, the food is decent, but not amazing. I’ve seen a lot of small cafes/restaurants serve the same items. Here are some food we tried:- Bacon Mac n Cheese – this is my fave from their menu. I love mac n’ cheese and this has just enough cheese sauce- Dip Roulette – fries, nachos and chicken nuggets which comes with different dips- Hotdog sandwiches (NY Street-Style and Philly Cheesesteak) – The hotdogs used were fat and tasty- Filipino breakfast platter – I like their garlic rice in particular, the garlicky taste really shines through. A plate is good for sharing for 2 people, so price-wise it’s very reasonable- Milkshakes – too sweet- Wintermelon milk tea tower – I feel like this is one of the cheap versions of milk tea. Because I love milk tea, I prefer milk tea that uses real tea leaves or bags instead of powder. So overall, I feel that this is a place that you visit for hanging out and playing games with your friends of family, but not for necessarily for the food. taraletsanywhere.com

Dawg’s reminded me of a cafe in Mendiola that I used to go to, with my college buddies just to chill and have a break during the busy semesters of our College life. The place is just too cute, even the ones upstairs where there’s guitars (and yes you can use them, just be careful with it) and have a mini acoustic sesh with your buds. They also have instagrammable foods such as the Dip Roulette (with fries), Nacho Grande, Bacon Mac & Cheese, NY street style sandwich, Philly Cheesesteak, Filipino Breakfast Platter, and drinks: Oreo Milkshake, Vanilla Milkshake and their Wintermelon Milk Tea Tower. The Dip Roulette with Fries has 8-9 dips to choose from, and my faves were the BBQ and the classic mayo x ketchup– and it’s good for 3-4pax. My personal fave was their Bacon Mac & Cheese bcus it has the right amount of cheesiness; meanwhile, the Filipino Breakfast Platter consists of Tocino, 3pcs Tinapa, Hard Boiled Eggs, 2 cups of Garlic Rice, and sliced of fresh tomatoes– the ultimate breakfast platter you could say! I like their nachos too and it’s only 150php (same as the Mac & Cheese). For the drinks, I’m not much of a milk tea fan so I just tried the two milkshakes. The Oreo milkshake is much more sweeter than the Vanilla (obvi).

Love the rice meals, sausage and coffee! 🙂 It’s the only place I know where I can play boardgames while enjoying affordable food, free wifi access and a neat study/work area too.

Had a great time here, everything is perfectly in place. The 2nd floor of the place has a chilly vibe, best to bring friends or family and play some boards with it. Really enjoyed my time here, I also heard that you can challenge the staff to a chosen game upon winning you get a free food(?). But you can confirm it to them. All in all it was a great experience, the owner of the place is god damn gorgeous as well LOL
