After a decent meal at nearby Sharifa, I shopped for a unique beverage to cap off lunch. There were usual shake stalls and coconut stand. True Lemon is a new concept in stalls and easily picked it over others. Lately I’ve been seeing lemonade stands scattered in malls and a considerable lines follow. Medium cup at Php 45, they use only half a lemon while at large, Php 55 using one whole. Interesting enough they place too much sugar syrup in them. At large their default is about 6-8 table spoons of white sugar concentrate. So I decided to create my own concoction. I had them use two whole lemons and only 3 table spoons of sugar and it turned out sour with a hint of sweetness, just the way it should be. I paid double or Php 110 for this. Lemons do have a number of health benefits. These include boosting the immune system, assist weight loss, anti- aging, prevents cough and cold, natural energizer, improves digestion and detoxifies the body. Having so much sugar though does cancel out these and adds even more problems to you and me. alwayshungry.ph
