This is a popular restaurant together with Boss Burger. They prepare and served as ordered. Affordable ramen. My all time favorite is Tantanmen with Tempura on side. Sometimes when it gets crowded you have to wait to be seated since the place is small. When it gets cramped on Sundays, the environment is hot it’s not comfortable especially during dry season.
It is a perfect place for people who wanna eat ramen on a low budget. My workmates and I will definitely go back and try other foods they offer. My only problems were the waiting time and that the egg was hard-boiled. Im not sure if the latter is really a bad thing, but for people who loves to eat ramen, they kinda expect the egg to be a little medium done, a bit runny. Nonetheless, it was a good find and we’ll definitely come back!
Food Quality*Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings – Nicely tender on the inside but was really bland. There was hardly any taste of garlic parmesan. Kept looking for ‘wings’ but none of the parts I was served looked like wings, but more of thighs or drumstick.*Seafood Ramen – The blanched shrimps tasted surprisingly fresh, the broth tested like instant noodle soup and was not even hot when served. The noodles used were miki, if you’re familiar with that.*Chicken Katsu – Just like the wings, nicely tender but lacked flavor. Could have used a little salt and pepper.ServiceThe kids (they must have been teens on a summer job) seemed clueless when it comes to dealing with customers. I asked for spoon and fork, and I was referred to the adjacent burger store, whose staff in turn referred me back to Boss Ramen. Funny. The spoon and fork given were fresh off the kitchen sink — not even wiped dry or sterilized. I asked if they had hot water, and was coldly told “none.”One girl staff member took a seat outside and smoked cigarette. As I was seated by the entrance, I could sniff all the second-hand smoke, so I approached her to let her know. She gave me a poker face, stayed still for three seconds, then moved to a different spot. Very nice. Will I eat here again? Absolutely not anymore, unless I’m desperate and the nearby carenderias with even better service are closed. This business has potential — again, nicely tender chicken and fresh shrimps on the ramen — but it needs to be run better.
Just like Boss Burger, loved it at first when it was on its stall era, on its earliest days. Now, it’s not as good anymore. Their quality also declined after getting more popular. Their Tantanmen, my favorite before, now only tastes half as good when it was new. We just came there earlier because they expanded and see if they redeemed their quality, sadly, no. Their servers could be friendlier too.
