There’s something about Joseph’s ice cream that makes it my favorite. However, I’m not quite sure but I think they changed their technique? Before they were serving liquid nitrogen ice cream but when we came back today they were doing the rolled ice cream thing. Their ice cream kind of changed as well because the first time I ate there I reeeeally loved their ice cream. It was the best liquid nitrogen ice cream i’ve tasted. However, the texture kinda changed (for me) so it was quite sad. It’s not as smooth as before but the ice cream still tastes good!
JOSEPH’S CRAFT ICE CREAM ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~One reason why we love ice cream is the fact that we get to experiment and innovate its flavors depending on our preferences. Well, we found this cool place in Shangri-la Plaza that makes you love ice cream even more. JOSEPH’S CRAFT ICE CREAM can boast of its wide array of topnotch ice cream like matcha, salted caramel, strawberry and Hersheys chocolate. They can be added with a wide selction of toppings like oreos and nuts. The multiple possibilities of mix n matchin the ice cream and its toppings makes this food stall a must stop for mall goers. The ice cream price ranges from 150 to 190. With the amount of serving and the exquisite taste, the price is definitely worth it.

From the time I’ve witnessed this ice cream innovation using a frozen plate, I knew it would not be as patronized. One of this process main downside is time. It takes around 3 minutes to get it together. A traditional ice cream stand, on the other hand, takes seconds to scoop and give you your cold dessert boost. It’s a good thing that Joseph’s does not roll them anymore, they simply mash and put it in your cup. How different is the taste and texture from an already made ice cream? Not so much really. In fact barely anything at all. I guess it’s really more of the process, giving you an on the spot make your own ice cream experience. I got fresh strawberries variety at Php 195, quite expensive for a half cup of ‘milk’ and barely two spoons of strawberry. I was supposed to add chocolate cluster but decided not to when staff said it was only going to be placed on top instead of mixing it. I didn’t really see the point of just topping it. I say if you are up for a different ice cream experience, this could be something you can try. If you are simply a regular or an avid ice cream, you could skip this. alwayshungry.ph
After having a really savory dinner, I wanted to cleanse my palate by having something sweet. I suddenly remembered that I’ve been wanting to try Joseph’s Ice Cream ever since I saw it in Shang.Took me some time before I was able to choose a flavor because they had limited flavors and the flavors they have weren’t super exciting. I ended up ordering a cup of Sea Salt Caramel. I watched the server as she prepared the ice cream in front of me and my first thought was the serving was very small. To think that I paid 170 pesos for it? Hmm. When I got to taste it, I wasn’t that happy either. The caramel was there and the sea salt flavor just had hints on it. I was kinda expecting that it’s the good kind of salted caramel.
Ice cream was pretty good. I ordered their coffee flavored one and I’m glad I did coz it’s not that sweet. It’s also amusing watching them make your ice cream from scratch upon ordering. I just find it quite pricey though at P150 a cup (cheapest rate for milk and vanilla flavors only). This price goes up when you order their more premium flavors. They also offer additional toppings for P25.
