Given other options or unless known to have real good food, I rarely eat in Filipino restaurants because their menus are what we usually eat at home. However, having been to the Food Hall countless of times, I figured it was time to at least try something new.Their Pork Sisig had the right meat-to-fat ratio but what made it special was the generous chicharon toppings.Don’t be fooled by just the 1 sparerib. I felt shortchanged at first because of how small it looked relative to the plate and the amount of rice but as I was eating it, it was actually packed with meat and there was just 1 small piece of bone. Also, if you know me well enough, you’d know I like my sinigang very sour. And their Piniritong Sinigang na Sparerib passed my sourness standards with flying colors.Still not a fan of Filipino restaurants in general, but hey, good to know there’s Miguelito’s if you’re up for some fancy Filipino dishes.

Tried their molo soup and I didn’t like it. It tasted a little sour and there was oil floating on it. Also, the small molo pieces floating around were all unwrapped. I’m not sure if this should be the authentic molo soup taste, but I prefer my molo soup to have just the right garlicky taste and not sour, and I don’t want my soup to be this oily.

Located at the 5th floor of Mega Food Hall, Miguelito is a nice place to dine on a budget. It satisfied my craving for traditional Filipino dishes such as sisig, kaldereta and sinigang na isda. Would come back for more. foodguideph.com

Went here for lunch with the family so I got to try several dishes.Angus Beef Sisig – tasty, crunchy, creamy. Meat portion is on the wee side so for those meat lovers order the Super Size. Kampangpangan Adobo – first time that I’ve eaten adobo with kamatis. It’s not bad though it’s not that good either. The meat is cooked well however the sauce is a bit thick for my liking. Both meals were served with plain white rice. Chicken Inasal – best dish we’ve ordered. Chicken is succulent and I especially like the marinate coating the skin which permeates to the meat inside. This meal is served with java/yellow rice with a few green beans.Talbos ng Kamote Salad – served with fried anchovies and salted egg. The leaves doesn’t taste fresh so consider ordering other side dishes. The meals are pricey since it is in the upscale food court of the mall. The serving time was quite long. I had to follow up our orders and apparently, they haven’t started cooking them yet. It was over 20 minutes since I ordered. The first two dishes were immediately prepared after I followed up but I had to wait another 5-7 minutes for the inasal. With the setback we’ve experienced, it will take some convincing for me to eat again here and recommend to others.

I ordered Crispy Kare-Kare which comes with rice and bagoong for P240. Serving time is really fast. Serving size and taste are both good too but there are very few crispy pieces in contrary to what I’m expecting from a crispy kare-kare. This order for me is happy-sad.

Pork Sisig is expensive given the portions but understandable as the locations is the more up-class food-court. Taste wise is creamy and OK, nothing spectacular.

I ordered the Homemade Chicken Tocino and Mais Con Yelo. The chicken tocino was so good! It was balanced, not so sweet and not so salty. I really liked it and the serving was so big. You get what you pay for.The Mais con yelo was good also. But too much sugar.
