Several menu items not available. Wi-Fi availability was dependent on the manager who was absent. Staff was extremely impolite.

Came to this cafe expecting a light lunch but was surprised to see they have a very wide menu, and a little inconveniently, most of their menu items were family size / for sharing. The place is really nice and well-lit, the decor is nice. The sizzling bulalo is good, the meat was so tender you can cut thru it with a spoon, although I wished they served a little more gravy on the side. Good meal, would come back again.

My family and I decided to have our Christmas lunch at Verena’s. The place is homey and cozy with coffee aroma wafting in the air upon entry. It was marvelous! According to the waitress though, they have yet to replenish their stock due to the holidays so some dishes are not available. We ordered buffalo wings, sinigang na lechon, salted egg shrimp, lengua with mushroom, puso ng saging and strawberry cake.Only around 3 tables were occupied that time including ours, but serving time took almost 40 minutes. I checked some of the reviews about Verena’s and they have the same comments — I’m wondering why the management has yet to do something about it. I told one waiter my observation and he just smiled apologetically. I understand. He doesn’t want to badmouth the resto so I just said ‘thank you’ and let him go.The food taste great except for the buffalo wings. Given the fact that it is considered to be a house specialty is a disappointment for me. The dish lacks the kick and tanginess needed for great tasting buffalo wings. I was expecting a bleu cheese dip that goes with it, but there’s none.Overall, place and food are great but speed of service needs improvement.

The recently renovated Verena’s Cafe was a total disappointment. They added an impressive display of baked goods and other pastries, but sadly, this did not compensate for the bad service and unaccommodating staff. We felt like we were invisible, despite the fact that we were the only dining customers during that time. I guess they were too busy with the preparations for an upcoming event (which, sadly, I think is the main reason why they treat their customers like they don’t exist). We were here a few weeks back, and we decided to try their pinakbet pizza. After a few minutes, the waiter came back with a plate of pinakbet. “Kuya, pinakbet pizza po inorder namin.” The waiter only scratched his head in confusion. I would understand if the restaurant was full of customers, but it was a lazy sunday night and if I remember it right, again, we were the only ones there. We decided to give them another chance by going back this afternoon by trying their pinakbet pizza and gising gising. it took them more than thirty minutes to prepare our orders, which was okay at first. To be fair, both the gising gising and pinakbet pizza were good, but i wanted a bagoong dipping sauce for my pizza so we called the waiter and requested for a bagoong dippig sauce (which arrived like more than 20 minutes after in the form of an alamang). Again, another disappointment. I forgot to mention that we had a hard time calling for their attention. One lady staff was busy over the pastry counter and didn’t even bother looking at us, and most of the waiters (i think there were three of them) were busy going around, paying more attention to the preparations for their upcoming event.Oh, and behind us was a table that was messy when we got there and still messy when we left.So much for second chances.

Filipino restaurant located along Don Antonio drive. The ambience was good. The place looks nice and spacious. I especially like the hammock at their al freso area. Service was good. The staff are very attentive, helpful and nice. We ordered their Dinakdakan, Beef Caldereta, Tokwa’t Bagnet and Plain Cheese Pizza. Their food was a bit pricey considering the serving was small. The dinakdakan was salty. It’s hard to eat without rice. The Caldereta was good although the carrots and potato seems undercooked. The Tokwa’t bagnet taste good. Their pugon baked cheese pizza was perfect. Definitely the star of our dinner.
