Very unassuming but provides good service and food that is not your typical Chinese fare. The service is not that quick because dishes are made fresh but the staff is attentive. Well seasoned food with clean aftertaste. No lingering MSG in your tongue.
They actually change the face of Chinese cuisine through what they offer. They got new food to choose from for every meat type and Their Fresh Lumpia is comparable to Chinese Lumpia out there. They also have Three Cup Chicken which I Crave for once in a while and also their sliced beef with bell pepper. Cooked freshly.
The food here was good. Even though the prices of the food here are expensive. I especially liked their xiao long bao, because the meat was big enough and the skin was not too thick or thin. And the sauce was awesome. The place there was nice. But there are limited parking spaces only, and also it was a bit sketchy if it’s night time.
Definitely a must try for the people who live nearby. The noodles are nice and firm, broth is flavorful and not overwhelming, the wrappers of the kuchay dumpling is thick enough to trap the flavors in but doesn’t give you that umay factor, and the XLB is nice and juicy.Normally not a fan of taiwanese pork chops but I like this better than tasty dumplings.
I was craving for some Xiao Long Bao and it’s my first time to eat food from this restaurant. I didn’t order much of the other food because it was a bit pricey and I only had it delivered through GrabFood, but the Xiao Long Bao was great. I’ve been eating Xiao Long Bao since I was a kid and I’d really recommend it. The meat inside is soft and juicy. I also tried the Onion (Scallion) Pancake because I liked them from another restaurant, but their version is much thicker. It smells great, but the taste is very bland and toned down – so I mixed it with my other order for some flavor, Special Taiwan Chicken. The chicken was really soft to the point that it seemed almost like pork fat. Its taste is (similar to?) sweet and sour sauce.
Ordered from GrabFood got their XLB, beef congee and fried p XLB. XLB was 10/10 it was hearty, no skimping on broth or filling wrapping was thin but was still able to hold the broth and filling. It was also still quite hot when it was delivered to me so don’t stuff the whole thing in your mouth, you’ll burn your tongue. Beef congee was pretty goof it was warm and serving was really generous it’s what you would want to eat when you aren’t feeling well. I did find it weird that they don’t serve crispy wonton chips (cause I love them)with their congee. The fried XLB well didn’t look like an XLB the wrapping was pretty thick but I didn’t mind, the filling was except that there was little to no soup in the fried XLB which made me a little sad.
Been wanting to try Flavors of Taiwan ever since a friend of mine recommended it. Even though it’s kind of near my place, it’s not super commutable. The restaurant immediately gives the Taiwanese/Chinese vibe. Almost everything is old school from the chairs to the menu.We said we weren’t hungry but we ended up ordering a lot. I think this is what happens every time I’m in a Chinese resto cos dimsum is life. Haha.▫️ Xiao Long Bao, 9 pcs – Php 250Their XLB was good. I was able to take some time finishing my share of the dish because their container keeps it hot. I just think they have thinner wrappers because it gets poked easily. Since we ordered two 9 pcs, I almost gave up and not finish it because it was satiating.▫️ Shrimp Fried Rice – Php 280Eating at a Taiwanese/Chinese resto without eating fried rice would be an incomplete experience. Their fried rice is the typical one – slightly oily but still good.▫️ Salt and Pepper Squid – Php 280I actually appreciated this dish because it wasn’t too salty and too peppery. It tasted lighter than other salt and pepper dishes I’ve tasted.▫️ Taiwan Style Chicken – Php 280Still have no idea what makes it Taiwan Style. I think this dish is a little pricey given that the chicken slices were so small and they had a lot of bones (so less meat).
