Been looking for a healthier milktea substitute and there comes Koomi from AU.Really liked the strong yogurt flavor but I think it didnt taste well with the brown sugar boba pearls.I will try the other fruity flavors next time.
Koomi’s got a cute branch in Podium. You have a pretty good reason to go to the Podium’s 5th level. It’s pretty evident that here in the Philippines, milk tea shops are literally everywhere. Koomi is different. Instead of teas or milk teas, they actually use yogurt sourced from Australia. I find it healthier compared to milk teas.I got to try the Koomi Signature (P120.00). Well, yogurt has that sour taste, so it is expected. Koomi Signature has that slight sweetness as well. I liked what’s inside of it. It has purple chewy rice which gives texture to your drink. There are even more exciting flavors such as Yoghurt with Brown Sugar Pearls, Cookies and Cream, Coconut, etc.Service is fast and good. They are very informative as well. Price starts at P120.00 and they have a fixed size of plastic cup (small). It was small, but still, they use yogurt so I guess it’s reasonable.
The names of their drinks are all quirky and well thought of!One of their best-sellers is their Koomi Signature – Stick-On-Me Purple Rice. What makes this so unique is that the sinker in this yogurt drink is sticky purple rice which is usually used in making ‘suman’ here in the Philippines. I mean, who would have thought that rice can be used as a sinker? The first time that this drink and the purple rice hit my tongue, wow. I had to keep on sipping because it was a different experience. In the end, I like the sourness of the yogurt drink mixed with the taste and texture of the purple rice. theworldandthewriter.blogspot.com
Koomi’s ambiance is very cool, perfect for chill time. If you’re a fan of yoghurt or into healthy drinks, Koomi is your bestfriend. They have 13 interesting fresh flavors. You can also choose if you want the Aussie blend (original) or the Filipino blend (creamier version).I tried the Cookies N Dream, Php125 (Filipino blend) and its really good, perfect for Cookies n cream lovers especially kids.I also tried the Boppin Boba (Php125), for milk tea lovers its time for the healthier version and you’ll love it like what I did.And the Koomi Signature, Stick on me purple rice (Php120). The combination of youghurt and sticky rice is something that you’ll enjoy and crave for more.Watch out for more branches to open1. MegaMall2. Uptown BGC3. UP Town4. Promenade5. Glorietta6. What I loved:KOOMI is a much healthier alternative to the milk tea craze. It’s very refreshing. Menu is simple too, but they have new interesting flavors. My personal favorite however is the one with ground pistachio and almonds. The staff are very kind as well and service is fairly fast and organized.
