Let me give you the heads up and the start up if you’re planning to visit. The Takusa Ramen shop isn’t perfect. It has its own flaws and a few short-comings in terms of the quality of its noodles. But what it lacks for the quality of its noodles, I can assure you that it’ll compensate for its warm and tasty soup. I honestly think that its intended market was somewhere along middle classes seeing as an average ramen these days cost about twice as much as Takusa’s. The serving size by the way is right on the spot. Not too many and not too little, just about enough to fill the average belly and not leave you bloated. Might I recommend the Hakata should you ever decide to proceed. This resto has a special place in my heart as its warm meals always cheer me up. Enjoy! Ü
The gyoza, semi-toasted, semi-worthy of the value. The ramen took a long time to be served only to wait for instant noodles topped with assorted things that will make it look like ramen. I wonder why the soup is not warm.
FOOD: 4/5Their ramen is surprisingly good. I did not expect it to be this good. Lately been to some mediocre ramen house around Pasig and decided to try this one in Pateros with my Ramen Buddy. The broth is shockingly good and not far behind their expensive counterparts. The chashu is thin while the tamago (egg) is just ordinary. Meanwhile the rice meal my other friend ordered is also fine. The plenty serving for the rice. The chicken sausage is also good.SERVICE: 1/5Self-service here. You will be the one who will get your own order on the dispatching area after waiting a while. Not advisable for self-service since their forte is Ramen and hot soups therefore an experienced server should be the one who will bring those to your table.AMBIANCE: 2/5The interior is Anime themed and lots of anime posters around. You also have grill installed in every table. The supposed to be Japanese stall looks like a canteen instead, carinderia vibes around during our stay. Maybe they can improve this an make it more Japanese and not just playing Anime videos on their TV.
I come here often since it’s near our apartment. I like the broth of their ramen, it’s on the saltier side for my taste, that’s why I just add hot water to balance it off lol. The noodles, I wish they chage it. Soft boiled egg is great! and I think you get what you paid for.
It is exactly how I imagined a ramen shop from a suburb would look like. Yes it might not have a very decorative interior like the other ramen shops we’re used to, but I must admit that there’s charm to places like Takusa— the Japanese music playing in the background blending in with the chirpy crowd having casual talks of how their day went, large posters of familiar Japanese anime have won me over. I sort of agree with a few comments here regarding the choice noodle. I also thought it could be better. But for a cheap ramen, this is actually close to some of the food we are eating at malls. The broth is nice. I think they have found the balance now when it comes to richness (since other comments said it was on the saltier side.) wish the meat isn’t pure fat though. That’s one thing I wish they’d improve on. The cheese gyoza has minimal cheese in it, which I kinda love. Sometimes, super cheesy flavor gets me satiated easily. Plus point on the staff being so friendly to me. Would definitely return especially now that it frequently rains. ❤️
There is nothing special with the food. The samgyeupsal price is 100 per order but for me, it is really pricy. These pork are bacon sliced and it was really thin and small cuts only. It was like the length of my pointing finger. The sausage was really hard for us to eat. It was like eating a rubber over and over again. Ramen was so so but doesnt have the authentic korean taste. This resto was ok but i am definitely not coming back here. Not worth the byahe and presyo.
