Pearl Plaza have an array of restaurants with different choices from Japanese, Mister Kabab, Pancake House, Tapa, and more. We went for Korean and it was a good choice. They have a korean bbq available for ala carte. It’s not unlimited and the price points can be steep if compared to other samgyup. The side dishes are unlimited. We ordered bibimbap, bulgogi, jap chae and the flavors are done right. A sizzling platter of Bulgogi is priced at P450. It was a late dinner and they close at 10pm. Service is appreciable despite the limited manpower. They only have one chef that serves 4 tables at a time but food arrived quickly
[2.5]Personally, the only thing that can alleviate an a la carte Korean Barbecue place is the presence of high quality meat, pristine environment, and good service.Sadly, the place was far from clean and organized.To add to this, the quality of the meat was oridnary and the pan to cook said meat on was dented.Oh and there was a lot of shouting, bantering, and loud voices from the service crew which did not help the experience here to get any better.
Jumong serves authentic korean food without breaking the bank. The owner is korean and manages the place. Everything is quality up to the last grain of rice–no kidding. I appreciate their rice because it’s really good rice cooked right.Their Galbi lunch set (300) is my go to order. You get 7 portions of side dishes, 1 seaweed clam soup, 1 sweet and fatty galbi, and a satisfying cup of rice. Oh and 1 iced tea. It’s really hard to beat that.It’s not exactly a gorgeous date place with a romantic atmosphere but if you want to show your date that you know how to choose great hole in the wall, this is a place to go.I always leave this place barely walking because im so full.
I like their Pork Galbi, Heamul delookbaegi (seafood spicy soup) and Osam bulgogi. The price is just right. You can also get a refill of the side dishes. Ambience is not that good though.
Ate dinner here last night while waiting for the heavy rain to subside. We ordered 3 lots of meat and it is amazing. Food is great and the price seems right. The only downside of this place is the service. It shows that the wait staff was there to take orders and collect payment.The exhaust of the place is terrible as well as it’s air condition. Yeah, you’ll smell awful after eating in this place. I find it really weird that we need to pay extra for the third servings of lettuce even though we ordered 3 lots of meats.
Food was good. Staff was extra attentive to a point that they already hovered. Serving sizes were big, too. The beef pieces on Galbi-Tang was slightly chewy but the broth oh sooo yummy. The Samgyupsal was plentiful and you have the option to have them cook for you. The Galbi-Chim short rib stew was heavenly, very tender and fall-off-the-bones goodness. The sauce was very flavorful. Price was just about right on the budget.
