The first and only other time I ventured down into this place was years ago. I distinctly remembered how much I enjoyed the Crazy Oreo Pancakes with Vanilla Ice Cream and that was my end goal for this visit.I ordered one of their bestsellers first, the Adobo sa Pula. It didn’t look like much, actually it looked sad. I was expecting something red but the dish just looked like Adobo Flakes that were aimlessly scooped onto the plate. Good thing it tasted so much better than how it looked. I would have preferred a more well done, crisper meat. I added vinegar and it tasted even better. I liked the garlic flavor of the slightly oily rice. I skipped eating the sweet potato fries, just not my thing. I would have enjoyed this even more if the food was hot. They served this really quick so I guess it was prepared beforehand. Even the fried egg was not warm so I just ate the white part. The Crazy Oreo Pancakes were as good as I remembered considering the very affordable price tag. Some parts of the batter had hints of cinnamon. One serving can be shared especially if you order rice meals. I would definitely go back to satisfy my Oreo Pancake cravings. P.S. some of the hugot/pick up line posters look run down and some have been taken down already

Their honey garlic chicken is simple but tasty, and you could upgrade for drinks for just a small amount. It can get pretty crowded around lunch time so it is best to go there before or after lunch time. snappedbyalexis.com

Affordable and delicious. If you’re in a hurry and have just an hour for lunch, this is one of the place to go to.Service was fast. Ordered honey garlic chicken meal to go. waited less than 10mins. The place is clean. Was expecting a dark and stinky place like most underground facilities but this one is an exemption. Food is delicious. was not expecting much but the chicken’s skin was crispy. the combination of the sauce was just right. and the garlic rice. you can really taste the garlic. egg was cooked fine. maybe it will also be nice if they’ll ask how the customer would like his/her eggs done. One thing I didn’t enjoy was the little strips of sweetened potato. was difficult to chew on but tastes good. maybe they could have made the slices bigger like a fries. Maybe 3-5 strips would do.Will definitely comeback for more. I’m still yet to taste their Nachos/ Tacos

I’ve visited Urban Hive a lot of times for its close proximity from my place of work. When the inevitable twang of saturation from fast food chains and convenience stores gets to me, I try visiting hole-in-the-walls to inspire my taste buds and also, for a change of scene. So i’ve had their Beef Tapa and Chicken Fillet and Beef Teppenyaki from time to time. I like their chicken fingers, they give you a big enough serving for an affordable price. Their beef dishes are good too. Their meals usually come with a side of thin-sliced fried sweet potatoes, very crunchy and delectable. The ambiance is actually suited for a good convo and, to spice up, a bottle of beer. They always have a movie running on tv so if you come alone, you won’t feel so bothered by loneliness.

Not bad at all for a quick meal. Had the carbonara with a big piece of the soy fried chicken. Chicken is juicy with a crispy exterior and tastes good. Carbonara is good too.

Urban Hive is one hidden gem in Ortigas. Thus, it is literally hidden, and we thought we got lost already from following the signs before we reached the cafe. It is located at the basement near parking of Wynsum Corporate Plaza. Anyway, after spending some time in this mini labyrinth type of a building a modern and cozy cafe welcomed us. I like that this cafe is really clean and has cheerful staff greeting us warmly. Their menu consists of Filipino and American dishes all priced to save your budget. Although for those who have a big appetite the serving might not satisfy you. I ordered the Carbonara and Ice tea, nothing special but it is not bad too.

It’s like a dungeon at least going in here. I’ve been in this area for more than a decade and I finally checked this resto in the basement. It will take awhile for me to go back though.Got three dishes, Adobo Pula, Gising Gising and Mixed Veggies. I had a different picture in my head before they all arrived. Adobo was good, salty enough and paired well with garlic rice. It’s just too greasy and the egg wasn’t prepared well. The mixed veggies was mostly cabbage and was too salty. The Gising Gising was so thick it was too heavy to lift it up to eat. What turned me off was service. They sent me Adobo twice and forgot what else I ordered. It also took 25 mins for everything to arrive. I was the first customer. alwayshungry.ph
