I’ve grown up to eating Hapag Kainan food during the first owner’s time (they’re now under new mgt). The food here is very near to what was served before in hapag. The best is their Crispy Pata!!! Sinigang na bangus belly sa sampaloc is divine and their sizzling pusit is also a winner. Their ginataang suso is very tasteful but somehow the serving size lacks a little. Nonetheless, the food was excellent, servers were attentive and the price was just right.
We went here on all saints day last year.I know it’s been a while but I can still remember how good the food was. I especially loved their Inihaw na Pusit which had cheese inside and their lovely Kare Kare although portioned a bit smaller than expected. Another notable dish would be their Crispy Pata.
We had our lunch at Bali Gulp. The price is reasonable and the food is excellent. The ginataang suso with kangkong is mildy spicy and tasty. The crispy pla pla is deep fried tilapia. I was intrigued and impressed about the sinigang nq baboy sa bayabas. It was not sour like the usual tamarind base sinigang, and goes well with the in house bagoong sidings. The ginataang hipon with pineapple, sizzling inihaw na pusit and crispy pata completed our group’s lunch. For coffee drinkers, I highly recommend their specially brewed Arabica coffee, strong and full bodied just as I like my coffee. The staff are very attentive, friendly and courteous.
If you have memories of old-school, traditional Rizal food just like how grandma made it, Bali Gulp will certainly bring the nostalgia back. Must try list: crispy hito, pantat (if available), sinigang na kanduli sa miso (they use real sampalok!), crispy pata and ginataang suso. If the weather is cool, would recommend dining in their al fresco area.
