Fratini’s is one restaurant I really want to succeed because they have good food and excellent service. It is held back by several things like lack of parking and the building is located near the new stoplight at the crossing of Metropolitan Ave. and Zapote St. Ingress and egress could be challenging depending on traffic flow. The restaurant business is brutal. You could be here today and gone tomorrow. But, restaurants like these deserve a fighting chance because they never lack in trying.Fratini’s started out in SM Jazz mall before landing here at M Suites. It was a Malaysian franchise of an Italian homestyle restaurant. They have very good pizza and pasta offerings plus Halal dishes. Last January, it became a fully Filipino-owned enterprise when Boy Cervantes/Bormaheco group bought the restaurant. They intend to come out with new food offerings which are not limited to Halal food.Tonight, we started out with spinach and artichoke dip that we spread on focaccia pizza triangles. It was creamy and delicious plus there was extra crisp in Fratini’s pizza dough that brought nodding smiles to us all. Then, the spaghetti bolognese made its entrance. Its meat to pasta ratio was perfect. The sauce was enhanced with oregano and we liberally sprinkled parmigiano cheese on top.We ordered quattro formaggi pizza and it did not disappoint. It had blue cheese, mozzarella, cheddar and gorgonzola. The blend works like a cheesy dream. There were 3 of us and the pizza was gone in minutes. For our main protein, we had the petto di pollo which was chicken breast stuffed with spinach and mozzarella garnished with porcini mushrooms, roasted potatoes and vegetable ratatouille. At first, we were wary that the chicken might be bloody because of the thick cut, but voila it was perfectly cooked, moist and tender.Fratini’s mango delight capped off our meal which had sweet, in-season mangoes, ripe pineapples in vanilla and chocolate ice cream. It may sound weird and off but trust me it works!
Amazing food and staff! Their white sauce is too die for. They also serve crocodile meat which tastes like chicken. Authentic italian food right in the heart of the metro. Must try!
This restaurant in Makati is only open on weekdays. It has good pasta and a very relaxing ambience. The Spaghetti Bolognese, its ragu has the sameorange hue as most of the other things that pass for Bolognese in the Philippines, and tastes mild. The ragu in Italy is a brownish hue of red and has a much stronger umami flavour. The owner is very friendly and accommodating and i will definitely be back.
My partner and I had a lovely dinner here one time. We were passing through our usual route going home from work and we got hungry so we thought of trying out this new place along Metropolitan Ave. We were greeted by Rizza, who was our server that night. She was attentive and accommodating.I was torn between the steak and their seafood platter. Well, I went for their Special Tenderloin. It was grilled tenderloin steak served with fries and farmer’s salad and pepper sauce. Cost was P1135 a plate. It comes with free bread and house water. I was happy with the steak. It was just right. Medium rare. But i was not a fan of their fries. To top it off, they served complimentary dessert – Vanilla panna cotta with cherry on top.As a result, I had a Happy tummy and they had happy customers.Ambience: could’ve been better but it was all right.
